I don't know how it is where you are, but in my area we have 2 or 3 different mail carriers every week. We had a guy last week who was running from house to house, like he had a plane to catch. The person who was working your street that day was probably some temp who didn't know the area, or was so far behind in his deliveries he was just trying to get caught up. If it were mine I would go pick it up.
