The simple fact is obviously stated above. Listen people, I know THE INS AND OUTS of this business. I know ALL of the laws pertaning to it and THATS WHY I QUIT RUNNING AN ONLINE PHARMACY!! OK plain and simple, it is NOT LEGAL. No matter what you may think, hear, say, do, the facts are there. Eventually, every OP will either be regulated or closed. It may not be this year or next but it will happen. Also, having a porta medic nurse come and take your vital signs and weigh you is NOT the same as a doctor patient relationship. NOT EVEN CLOSE. OP's that say "You need this by the end of the year" are simply ATTEMPTING to comfort themselves and the patients. The truth is PortaMedic won't even add new pharmacies to this service because they where unaware of what it was being used for. PortaMedic is SUPPOSED to be used for health insurance evalutions. I havespoken to them MULTIPLE times when i was a part of NetP*** and they are VERY worried about what their involvement may bring them. Additonally, when we started up the new site last year and solictied over 9000 doctors, we found that 8 of the 9000 would participate. This is a good sign as to what the Medical Community thinks about this type of service!! As far as the TeleMedicine comment, I have already stated my invovlment with that and TeleMedicine IS TOTALLY different then an Online OP. The TM patient HAS seen the prescribing doctor, and has video and monitoting equiptment in home to give vitals etc to the initial doc. The other side of telemedicine is military, and has to do with remote surgeries and treatment.
