Re: Hydro - Darvon Difference

I have a feeling this will be moved to another forum but for what it's worth here is my opinion.
Both Darvon and Hydrocodone are effective pain relievers. Both meds loose potency when taken over a long time.
In my opinion hydro is much better but after awhile hydro doesn’t work for me as it did before so it helps to switch from one to the other.
The difference between Darvon And Hydrocodone is Darvon is not a true opiate but will relieve withdrawal of opiates similar to methadone. When switching to Darvon from Hydro expect some depression and diarrhea for a couple days. Keep some Imodium or better yet Lomotil on hand.
I think both are helped a lot by mixing with Tylenol, aspirin, or the best for my condition is Ibuprophen.
Take care.
