Am I just paying better attention, or are there really about 10 times as many articles like this coming out than there were a year ago?

What happened to the evils of Mexican and Columbian drug Cartels? I think the OP industry is an easier target for the DEA, humbled by it's vastly expensive failure to make even a small dent in the international narcotics trade.

So hey, score some points by putting a few seriously troubled doctors in jail, grab some headlines in the process. The photo-ops aren't as sexy as the mountains of cash and drug fueled bonfires of yesteryear, but the hours are easier. And the target isn't moving anywhere near as fast.
