I think I would go in to the ER with this problem, because research has recently shown that dental problems don't just affect your mouth and sanity.
Not to scare the Hades out of you, but there is now a solid link between bacterial infection of the gums and heart infections. I'm not a doctor. I forget the wording. But let's just say there is more at stake than pain here, and maybe if you go in to the ER with that fear as well and explain you don't know where to turn before this gets worse and you are worried about infection, you will get a more sympathetic and helpful reponse.

Be prepared also to know that a lot of doctors equate chronic tooth problems with long-term opiate use; as one does produce less saliva while taking these meds. Just a heads-up; so you will be able to tell them the truth; it's a divorce problem.
