Right now, I take Diazepam, once in a while, (20mgs or more before bedtime) which helps to calm my anxiety, which in turn allows me to fall asleep! I also have Xanax, and Clonazepam, I find that Clonazepam (in my case) is more of a sleeping aid than an anxiety aid. As for Xanax, I have not really had the chance to try it, to see what it is best for????Anxiety, Panic attacks??
Currently, although this is not a muscle relaxant, I am taking Clonidine (0.1mgs x2 tablets at bedtime)(Catapres, as known in the US) I take it for many reasons, it is a blood pressure medication. But, for sleeping, it is the ***best*** sleeping med I have ever had, even though that is not what it is intended for.
I live in Canada, and we get Methocarbonal OTC, it is a muscle relaxant, and works well, when taken infrequently, as not to build up a tolerance for it.
I hope some of this helps???
