I agree that you can't get it anywhere online even with records. I have been on it for 6 years (120mg a day) and after building up a tolerance it becomes less effective. I have been on all the potent meds, Oxycontin/Percocet/Morphine/Fentynal and when you have the kind of pain I have from surgery nerve damage, csf leaks etc. sometimes nothing works. I have also had my fair share of awkward pharmacists who had accused me of having already picked up my meds when I have'nt. The media has really hyped up this drug. I did wonder why it was so popular and I discovered that although it is delayed release 30% of the total dose is immediate release so with a 40mg dose you get 13.3mg straight out which gives that euphoric feeling. Other meds like MSContin don't do that and I think this is also the reason docs don't like to prescribe it because the patient is more likely to become dependent on it. Of course I think this was deliberate on the drug companies part. Until they were banned there used to be a 160mg pill that's over 53mg released immediately!! and there were some patients taking more than one 3 times a day, the only thing after that is IV Fentynal.
I have to keep cutting my meds back and take 'Drug Holidays' to reduce dependency. I really wish there were more research into genetic drugs, it would be so great to take a pill that could stop just the pain messages to the brain with no side effects, but imagine even that would get abused, we can't win
