Thank you Alphaman Heath for the mention! My thought was always that I didn't mean needful people should be shut out from information. Sometimes you have records, but for thousands of reasons, you need those meds first before you can even concentrate on keeping the proper countenance when you request your records from an office that already has shut you down. I understand. But there are ways. It is not doctor shopping to go to a clinic or other doctor and express your pain or difficulty and ask for simply a diagnosis...Or to take the #20 pill RX they give you, and about the time it is logically gone, send your records into the OP of your choice.
Awhile back, there was a thread on flying with meds...it was really interesting....course my favorite is where to hide them...that cheers me up all the time because we really are by turns resourceful and -sigh- all hiding them in the same place we think no one will look!
I maintain it is a good idea anyway to have an in-town dr and Rx bottle from them. This is not DDing. There is no law saying you have to throw away your bottle when it is empty...though some chains are beginning to make you bring your empty bottles in when you refill, I heard...maybe that is just a rumor...I know some PM clinics request this.
The thing is; you are helping yourself in many obvious and subtle ways when you go to a sliding scale clinic or community clinic or Urgent Care; whatever. You are locally seeking help. Even if you don't leave with an RX...you are documenting that you felt compelled to seek educated help. This is nothing but good.
I am so proud to be a member of this board. I feel so much more aligned with a group of people that most of society regards with disdain; I think we are the strong and resourceful ones. And when I see a thread like this one, where we intelligently discuss how to help each other and protect our sources, I just am happy all over again that I found you guys.
