I've been using fedexmeds for about 6 months, and they have been great, a pleasure to deal with, except for the way they handle their relationship to the pharmacy. There is no clear cut way to specify your pharmacy and shipping before the consult, and twice I have had the doctor misunderstand the shipping I wanted, for example, I said "standard" once, thinking standard overnight envelope, and got 2-day saver and was told that 2-day is "standard" for them, now I can't get to the TDI website, it says it's down, to check my order! Anyone know anything about this? Also, as long as I'm ranting, I had a bad experience with United last winter- at christmas time- they sent a package MISSING one prescription, then gave me the run around for weeks, I was very polite and patient, but basically they refused to believe me and never made good on the prescription I paid for, despite the fact that I had been a good customer for some time. I just decided not to order through them again because of this- with united, if they forget to put your meds in the package- you're screwed!
sincerely, mrBungle

When I schedule a new consult with Fedxmeds, they have ALWAYS given me a choice of pharmacies (United or TDI) before the consult. And once you pick, they send you an additional e-mail that deals specifically with your pharmacy choice and shipping details. Again, this usually happens before the consult. They do make a point of telling patients to not discuss pharmacy or shipping arrangements with the doctors and to direct all questions to their secure message area. Fedxmeds is #1 when it comes to CS and I'm sure things will be worked out to your satisfaction.

I have also always had a choice in pharmacies with Fed Ex Meds - United Prescription Services has always been wonderful in my opinion and they have their own website where you can order your refills.

I have never heard Fed Ex Meds offers compounded meds? I know United Prescription does compounds, but I didn't think they did them through Fed Ex? If I'm wrong somebody please correct me.

10/80 and 15/80 are compounded hydrocodone - meaning 10 mg. of hydrocodone and 80 mg. of APAP - many people like these better for obvious reasons - less APAP and better on your liver, although I imagine they are quite a bit more expensive, but I don't know that for a fact. As an example - Norco is 10/325, Lortab is 10/500 so you can see the dramatic difference in APAP content.

United tells me they only charge $107.88 for #120 compounded 10/80s vs. $101.33 for #120 Watson 10/325s. They said the "raw materials" are cheaper to buy in bulk (vs. the pre-made 10/325 Watson tabs) which offsets the cost of the pharmacists' time to bulk make the compounded capsules. I was very pleased at the price.

I'm exploring this option as an alternative to using NWW. NWW was hyping Unipharm's ability to do compounding at the beginning of the relationship and actually used it as a selling point for switching to Unipharm from St. Pete's. It came up again last month when they thought they could make 10/100's for a few days... Upon further research they backed out and dropped the topic and don't talk about it anymore. From the fragments I've pieced together, Unipharm balked at making them for some "legal reason" that they won't explain...Now you can't seem to get a straight answer from them so it may be time to switch OPs to get the compounded meds...

Interesting Black Cat - do know if Fed Ex Meds specifically offers the compounds? I know you can get them through Doctor_Appointment.Com, but I didn't think they were available through any other OP's than Madison Pain Clinic and Dr. Watson. I guess I could ask that question on their secure website, maybe I'll do that. Too bad about Unipharm - I think compounds would benefit so many people and that price is a lot more reasonable than I thought it would be!

I am not sure if FedXMeds scripts the compounds. I was assuming they now do based on the post by Meta111 posted on 4/11 above. A few months ago when I was investigating, FedXMeds said they didn't write them, but I was assuming based on his post that FedXMeds has changed policies. If you ask them via their secure messaging, please update this thread with their reply.

Maybe I need to go to Madison Pain Clinic or Dr. Watson that you mentioned to get the compounded meds.

- Do you know if these two use United for their compounding?

FYI: United definately offers compounded 10/80. My last post with United compounded pricing included a summary of a conversation with a United pharmacist from a few weeks ago. I didn't ask him which OPs I should go to to get the script, however, since I have several weeks to investigate before my NWW scripts run out.

- Looking forward to your update if you learn anything else from FedXMeds!

yes, it is written on the homepage of their website now. from the site:

"As example, for those qualified patients who require manufactured Hydrocodone 10mg/325mg combination, or Compounded 10mg/80-160mg, our Physician's will now prescribe quantities of 90 or 120, with 2 refills, based on your Consultation and Supporting Medical Documentation."

Yep, Meta111 is correct as stated above. I need to start reading the OP websites! Honestly, I don't know what pharmacy Madison or Dr. Watson uses, but I know they are very expensive from what I've heard. Sounds like Fed Ex Meds might be your best bet money wise if the doctor will prescribe them for you. I have used the 10/80's before and I think they work quite well, maybe not quite as effective for pain relief as Norco or Lortab but worth it to me for the lower APAP. Let us know how it goes if you are able to get them. Thanks Meta111 for the info!

I use Madison and receive compounded hydro from the Medicine Shoppe. It is pricey, from $1.64 to $2.12 per pill, depending on the dose. I am interested in a cheaper alternative, but have been unable to find the cost of meds prescribed by Dr. Watson. $107 for 120 pills from Fedxmeds is certainly the cheapest I've heard of.

Feel free to PM if I can provide additional info on Madison.

Best of luck,

Sam

I'm not sure if that quote from United applies to FedXmeds customers. It was a general quote from United for #120 of their compounded 10/80's. You can call United at 877-971-0300 if you want to verify or get more info I guess...I have time before I need to decide and lots of other stuff to do so I am in limbo for a few weeks..

Has anyone ordered the generic xanax from TDI recently? I was just wondering what the current prices are at this time?

Thank's for any help you could offer,

That's about a 5 bucks more than I pay for the #120 10/500's I get fom United, so the price is in line, but how well do the compounded meds work? I originally got the 10/325's, but they were a HUGE bust. I went back to the 7.5/500's for a time and found that they actually worked much better. For me, more Tylenol works best. Less Tylenol is a good thing, but I don't wish to switch only to be stuck once again with meds that just don't provide sufficient relief. Too bad OP's don't/can't/won't give out sample five day supplies like your local doc. Heck, they don't have to give them away, they could charge for them and include them with your last refill before your next consult. Much cheaper in the long run.

Meta,
Could you please confirm the price you were charged was the same quote I was given for #120 of the 10/80s by United($107.88) when you post as to the effectiveness when you receive them?

THANKS

Hi, quick question, what is the URL of United Pharm? I haven't run across it yet and I am shopping around for an OP.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, are they like fedxmeds, or are they simply like a walgreens, where I need to obtain the script elsewhere? Sorry to sound ignorant, just not clear on what they do exactly.

Thanks again,
S

United is the pharmacy. You have to use the OP first.
Fedxmeds is the OP
Log on to their website.
Order a consult.
They give you a choice of two pharmacies.
United is one of them(the better one in my opinion, also cheaper).
You cannot just go and log on to the pharmacy and order meds. You must have the consult first and send your records.
If you need any further help, just ask.

Hello everyone. Does anyone know if you can get your consult and first round of meds without sending your records. I know some OPs do that and was wondering if Fedexmeds does the same. Thanks.

No they don't. There is only 1 that does. Even then it depends on what you are looking for from what I have heard.
Good luck. Best to send your records in 1st and have no worries.
