Safety of medicine ordered at pharma24.cc
      #96458 - 08/28/03 02:30 PM

Hi! I an wondering about the safety of medicine ordered at pharma24.cc. I ordered 4 times already and I received all the medicine I ordered with ref-numbers on the boxes blanked out. The expiry date is allright. Allways 2005 or somewhat later. I also ordered hydrocodein and something seems to be wrong with the pills. They are too strong and they gave me a faintness spell for some hours. I use codein for many years now because of injuries from a motorcycle accident. I am just wondering about the source pharma24.cc is getting there medicine. They are in Spain. Is Codein sold over the counter in Spain? Or is it reimported stuff from Africa? Is there anybody here who had problems with pharma24.cc medicine?

Chika, Hydrocodone and Codeine are NOT the same drug! My guess is that if you've switched from Codeine to Hydro., it's not the pills as the Hydro. is a much stronger drug and it's effects are very different than Hydro. Personally, I'm allergic to Codeine but can take hydro. because they're different. Though, I'm no doctor and if you're having fainting spells, I would recommend that you SEE a doctor before taking anymore! In fact, if that's the only drug your taking and you're not mixing something that would cause an adverse reaction- then I'd stop taking the hydro. all together.

PS... re-reading this to myself, when I say it's 'not the pills', what I mean is that it's prolly your reaction to the drug, not that they're bad drugs.

Does Pharma24 even carry hydro? I thought this was an International OP and they don't carry hydrocodone. I'm wondering if Chika means dihydrocodeine? I don't know much about the codeine products. I do agree with you Greycie, fainting spells require a doctor's visit but be careful what you tell the doctor - he/she might not think much of ordering meds from OP's. Be careful!

I have ordered many different meds on many occasions from P24. Every product has been of excellent quality.
The blacked out portion on the box is the price .
If you ordered the Contugesic, it is 60mg dihydrocodeine in a time-release form. DHC is reputed to be 2-4 times stronger than codeine. The recommended dose is one pill swallowed whole every 12 hours. It sounds as though the dose was too high, or this particular medicine does not agree with you. I sincerely doubt that there was anything wrong with your order, though I suppose anything is possible. Have you tried their codeine products? If that is what you are used to, that may be a better choice. Feel free to PM if I can help in any way. -Pat

Oh yes I tried the codein. But it doesn't last long so I was looking for some codein which is released over time. I tolerate codein very good and it reliefs the pain very well. I meant Dihydrocodein. It seems it has different effects than codein. Why is that? It should be the same machanism but it gets on my systems. Lowers blood pressure..

Dihyrdocodeine and codeine are entirely different as far as opiates go. All opiates produce different effects and side effects. Just because they share the word "codeine" in their name doesn't mean it will work the same as codeine.

If you want time released codeine, because you know how codeine affects you and it relieves the symptoms that you take it for, there is a time released version, something like Peruditas Contugesic 50mg. I'm not sure I have the name right - but it's 50mg time released codeine. I believe it's available in Spanish OPs? The pills are the size of dimes and look like a bunch of different colors smushed together.

Hope this helps.

I've tried EVERY opiate in existence and in my own humble experience, DHC or Dihydrocodeine is the only one that has a 'speedy' effect to it. This might be the cause of your 'fainting' spell. I remember reading somewhere through the years that this speed-like side effect is the main reason for it not being prescribed in the United States. Seems to be very popular in Europe.

BTW - does anybody know what long term negative effects could occur by using DHC over extended periods of time. I'm not talking about abusing it but using it as indicated --> 1 pill every 12 hours.

I must say, besides Oxycontin, this is the only drug that comes close to relieving my constant back pain. Not even Vicodin (hydrocodone) comes close. But as I said, this is only my experience --> results may vary. As for me, DHC is a godsend that allows me to live a normal life without constant pain. Thank the Lord for Pharma24 and Pharmatico! Otherwise, I would not get out of bed in the morning and go to work. I wouldn't be able. Hopefully Pharma24 will offer DHC again in the near future. I noticed that there is no order box for this med.

Hi chikako, could I ask you the dosage you take of Codeine and Dihydrocodeine,if you go to http://www.1000med.com/buy_codeine_dihydrocodeine_online.htm

the pharmacy states that Dihydrocodeine has about twice the potency of codeine, but remember it's in slow release form(retard)

I have always found pharma24cc top class and recently bought 200 Codeisan 28.7mg codeine all in their blisters and boxes with their expirey date 2008 and was actually $15 cheaper than Arish who another excellent source for codeine products.Pharma24cc price is miles cheaper than any other IOP.

If you want to ask me any questions on dosages etc send me a PM

Hi DougUK or Horse _Apple, I've order dihydrocodeine brand (Contugesic) from 1000med and it wasn't the retard. Am I missing something? I know that perduratas codeina is 50mg retard or (slow-release), also Didor Continuous is. I've ordered from 1000med 4 times and I've always gotten regular Contugesic. No where on the box or phamphlet did it state that is was retard or slow-release form. I'm not trying to one up you here, but lets call it what it is! If it's retard, slow-release, time-released, or extended release. Like the new Paxil CR. CR stands for (controlled release).

Have you tried the Perduretas from P24? It's a time released codeine and works well for me. I've never had a problem w/ P24's meds, but like everyone else, I'd be cautious about taking any drug that made me feel faint. Good luck.

chikako
I have the same reaction to hydro's. They make me feel faint, lightheaded and "wierd" in general. Something about my system that they just don't agree with. Codeine works great for me but when I was in an auto accident and had MORE pain my dr thought I needed something stronger and prescribed vicoden. When I couldn't take it he precribed something else. I get the same effects from hydro's and dihydro's (if there is much difference. I just went with what the "doc ordered" because I was in too much pain to research and he said I needed something stronger than codeine). I had kept the hydro's and dihyro's as backups if I ever needed them and the time came when I had another accident (fell down stairs) so I tried them ,separately of cource, and once again had the same adverse reactions. So I know it wasn't something that would pass so to speak, I just can't take them....period. Your system may be the same as mine. Be really careful and talk to your dr before you decide to take any more of them. Also...my dr didn't give me any definite reason as to why I reacted to them the way I did... nor can I say that I really pushed for any specifics.
