cervical branch nerve block

I have been going to a pain clinic,and they want to to do a permanent nerve block. is anybody familair with that proceedure?

Isn't that where they inject a medication that dissolves the nerve(s)? I believe that nerves may regenerate, so permanent depends on what your body does.
