I am taking hydro for pain and have been having diarehea for 2 days now. I googled this topic and this is a side effect of acetmetophen OD. I'm not having any other side effects other than the runs. I hope someone can help me with this. My question is do you think this could be an acet. OD.

How much APAP do you take and for how long have you been taking it?

That would be helpful to know because most people stay pretty well constipated, or at least not running as smoothly, while taking opiates.

Of hydro? That is 40 pills? Or are you talking about the APAP level?
Are you feeling any better yet? You may want to try some Immodium if it is still bothering you. If it is really that much Hydro, then that may be your problem.

4000mg of Hydro would be 400 pills. Correct me if I am wrong 400 X 10 = 4000 40 pills would be 400mg of hydro. Am I right????

lol, he's talking about the APAP dose of 4000 mg per day, not hydro! Could you possibly imagine 4 GRAMS of hydrocodone per day?
Anyway, that shouldn't be causing diarrhea, so it's worth checking out with a doc- maybe you've got some kinda infection or other bowel problem that needs to be checked out? You're not taking nearly enough APAP for that to happen.

lol I know that I was replying to Private Realm's post above. Could you imagine trying to stay supplied in 400 Hydros per day??? lol OMG!!

Alan, that's an awful lot of APAP per day, which might be fine for you - just please make sure and have a blood test every 6 months or so to make sure your liver is functioning properly!

Thanks for all the replies, my stomach is fine now. It must've been something I ate. ANd yes I nkow that is alot of acet. I think I'm going to ask for the 325,s at my next consult. Thanks again everyone. Takl to ya'll later.
