I'm sorry if this is a repeat question, but I did a search and couldnt find an answer. But, what is the equivalence of hydrocodone and percocet? Does so many mg's of hydro's equally so many mg's of percocet or are these 2 totally different opiates? I know that Perc's are Sch II while hydro is Sch III and Ultram is not scheduled at all. I have been prescribed percocet in the past and they seem to do nothing for my pain, while, the hydrocodone does?? Just wondering if say 20mg of hydro was equivalent to 5mg of Perc or whatever. I also find that Ultram helps better at times than even hydro?? Anyone else have similar variations with these opiates?
Percocet (name brand) contains oxycodone (Schedule II) and APAP, unlike Vicodin (name brand -- also Locet, Lortab, Norco etc.) which contains hydrocodone (Scheudle III) and APAP. Oxycontin, which you may have heard of, is pure oxycodone. There is no pure hydro equivalent. My personal opinion is that 7.5 oxy = about 10mg hydro. Oxy is a little stronger.
