Chrons Disease Ideas?
      #93110 - 08/12/03 11:40 AM

Are any of you suffering from Chrons? Hydro really seems to help the diahhrea. My doctor does precribe small doses of Vicodin, but really can't do a lot more for me. Any ideas out there that have worked for you? I am going through a pretty bad flare up right now...potty 20+ times a day.

I, too, have Crohn's Disease. The hydro works wonders for the diarhea and the cramps. But be careful. I had a couple days last week where I felt great and I didn't take ANY hydro and believe me, did I pay for it (20 times plus!)! It's better to take the same amount every day. What you can try doing is to break the hydros in half and take every 4 hours -- that's what I do. I also have endometriosis which makes the Crohn's much worse during "that time of month," so I take extra then. Hope this helps. Sorry you're not feeling well. How long have you had Crohn's? 20 years for me ....

Hi. I had posted something on Rhu Arth awhile ago that deals with this. If you look it up here you will find the whole story but to make it short I would go to the following...

www.askdrstoll.com

That place is a real godsend on most of those subjects. I would also do some research into the product "Primal Defense". I have nothing to do with the product other than it saved my wifes life and I highly reccomend it.

At first I thought it was just another acidopholis thingy that was allot of hoey and even gave my wife heck about buying it. I went to my brother in law who is a Dr. and told him to talk her out of it. He told me that he would gather all of his research and then present it to her so that she would see her mistake. Instead he came to ME and told me that the AMA is currently studying this stuff and that he thought she should try it. I still didn't buy into it but I can say that she went from almost dead (as compared to who she used to be) to my vibrant and great wife in a very short time. I don't know the med version of why it worked. I do know it was created by a guy who was dying of Chrones and I guess he was a scientist and he put all of his efforts into saving his life. I don't really know more than that except that it worked a miracle for my wife and that is enough for me.

Please take what I have to say for what it is worth and do all of your research to draw your own conclusions. I am not involved with the stuff like I said and only wanted to give you my advice on what worked for my wife. Do visit the www.askdrstoll.com if none of these work do a yahoo search, that will find it for you. The thread I was talking about had a link on it from one of the other posters here who liked it allot) It is a great place for info and help with advice. Think of it as much of a godsend as this place is.

Best of luck,
Ni

Thanks so much both of you. I am going on five years now. Having a little trouble finding the web site, but I won't give up.

Hi. I am sorry I can't do the ling thing. Try a search where you put the name in quotes. For example, "Dr. Stoll" and see what you get. I did it and found a link to the website. Hang in there as I know there is help. The AMA is starting to look into alternative meds to help and as I said, my wife was so bad that at the age of 37 they were talking major surgery and she is fine now. She takes a couple of those things a day and never has a complaint. Best of luck,

Ni

Hi,
I take Lomotil. I can totally sympathize with ya. Time was, I was afraid to leave the house, just in case...
Wish I had some pearls to give you. Hope you find something that helps. In my case, it is Gluten intolerance, but the end result is basically the same--unexpected, blazing diarrhea. Ick.
