When someone from say the West coast posts on the board, the time that shows is that the time of that individual or the time in EST???
Just a fellting thought that came across my mind while looking around.

I don't know, but let's find out. I'm in Arizona, and we don't observe daylight savings time. So currently we are the same as "California time". It's 1:45pm local time right now...
edit: well, it's shows (to me) as posted at 1:45pm. I guess the real question is what time will it show to someone in a different time zone? I think htere is some place in your profile to enter a time off-set based on your time zone....

I am East coast, and your post is saying 4:45 pm, but I went into the setting for myself a long time ago and set the board to my time.

I hope this helps you. First go to "My Home" at the top of the page. Then click on Edit where it says "Display preferences, number of shown threads, languages, colors..." then there is a section that says "change time to match your server" and thats where you can make the times of the post match your time zone. Good Luck!!!!!!

We do?? Maybe that fall I took the other day was alittle harder than I thought..or maybe that electro shock treatment affected more than just the pain signals to my brain LOL. I'm still confused.

Jeremiah, I'm glad your interpretation was helpfull to legitimate, but it seems backwards to me.
Charm; if you are still having trouble, set it to +3 (Ohio, right?). Others; eastern +3, midwest +2, mountain +1, pacific 0, Hawaii -something. Just look at the server time displayed (pacific time) then look at your clock. The difference is the number you should use. If you are east of california use positive numbers. If you are west of california use negative numbers. If you are on the other side of the international date line, good luck.

Yah Jethro you're right, Darn this software for this reason as well as the red post numbers....... this SHOULD be using GMT offset or UTC, not frigging "current server time offset"!!!! ARGH, that is so broken
Right now (Daylight savings period) the intervals are as Jethro said:
Eastern: +3
Central: +2
Mountain: +1
Pacific: 0
Server is on Pacific time, it is located in Los Angeles or very close-by (within ethernet distance, best-case)

I put +2 for my time zone,Central, and it shows central on my pc and DB. This stuff shouldn't be as confusing as it is. LOL!

The times are adjusted to what ever time zone you are in.

Unless you live in Arizona, where we don't observe daylight savings time. I have to go in 2 times a year and set my clock when the rest of the country changes time and we don't....

There's another reason to like Arizona! If you people want summer hours, just do it! Don't mess with my clock!
