Hi all! Hopefully someone here will have a suggestion for me. For the past several days I've been unable to access specific forums on the freeboard...when viewing the main page I can get into all forums except Canada Q&A, Meds & Med Conditions, Other Related Topics, & Email Sources. I can click the links but there is no response...I can however click on the last post in the aforementioned forums and get in that way, although it only allows me to read the most currently active thread.
I haven't made any changes to my PC recently and I've even attempted to access those forums by temporarily disabling my firewall, to no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, I had the very same problem with getting to certaing threads and the problem for me was my firewall, it seems you already went that route maybe its oyur browser. Have you had any issues on other sites or just DB? maybe its them and not you. Try disabling your firewall permanently and see if you can get in these threads maybe there is a software conflict or something

if it's still happening, maybe the moderator could help you with this problem? also, have you checked in the computer forum?

Did you ever get this problem solved? Sometimes the software glitches and you might have to let DB know that it's happening so they can fix it on their end.

Check your cookie and security permissions in IE (if that is what you use) especially if you have recently patched IE due to the major hole they recently found in it's security.

Unfortunately, no. I did let DB know and they haven't run across this particular prob yet...I'm going to do some reading on the main InfoPop tech board to see if the problem is addressed there. In the meantime I've found that I can use the "Jump To" navigation box at the bottom of each opened forum to access the problem forums - it doesn't indicate which posts are new to me but I can live with that until I can resolve the problem.
Thanks to all who have offered suggestions/advice!

This is very unusual.
Some members have problem to access the board but you can post about your problem of not being able to access some forums. This must be a problem at your end.
This is most likely some problem with your firewall, some software you use to block cookies, a corrupted cookie, a strange virus in you PC, or something as simple as having your computer date date set wrong (if the date is off by more than a day from the real date the board cookies will go crazy )...
We tested your accounts and they are fine on this end.
We do not experience the problems you mention when we try your account.
My suggestion is to just delete your cookies and to check the Welcome forum for help on how to set the firewall.
We also have a thread there that shows how to solve most problem: Click here for a solution
Hope you manage

Go to your security settings and there are a couple of places where you can have a custom set up vs default The area where there are little circles and a lot of them are to Enable, disable, prompt one or some may have changed it's trial and error

Thank you to all who offered suggestions & help ...I have truly appreciated it. Over the last couple of weeks I've been playing around with various things and also switched from a cable connection to ADSL and so far so good!
