My question is about Fax-Machines...They are getting so cheap i can see where it would be useful to own one...But do you have to have a seperate phoneline for it? Or could you use existing phone line...I have cable broadband service so that would'nt be a conflict...But how would a fax work ... would i have to hook it up , use it , then unhook it so i can recieve phone call's? Any and all info will be appreciated... Please PM or post your answer....Thank's

all you need is one phone line depending on the particular model, most would be able to do this. Upon turning off the fax machine any calls you would get would go directly to your normal phone line so it would not cause any conflict with incoming calls. I have used many that are stationed in a home and they link to the same phone line just only applicable when the machine is turned on. Hope this helps

In windows XP it has a fax built in, by default it is not operational just go to help and it will show you how to set it to run' everything is in xp , in 15 min's you will be faxing. May need a scanner for somethings
My mom has a fax machine that is just hooked into her phone line and left on all the time. When someone calls, it can tell the difference between a fax and a voice. I suppose you have to have caller ID, or know when someone was going to fax you, so you wouldn't answer the phone instead.
It's made by Brother and she loves it!
