"We may be Southern but..." ? Now now, lets not go there. I'm sitting here south of the Mason/Dixon too and don't feel the least bit inferior to the rest of the country. Hell, i've lived in a lot of places both north and south, and I'll take the south every time. I could live without some of the heat in the summer but at least people still smile and say HI to you when you deal with them, unlike a lot of places i've lived in this country. We may talk slow, but that doesn't reflect our intelligence  . No offense intended, it's just seems that southerners are one of the last groups that gets picked on without anyone raising a stink such as would happen if you replaceed "southern" with any other "ethnic" term.
That sounds like a great concert, though. May just have to look into that one! Thanks...

I am a yankee turned southern. Lived in the south for 8 yrs now - and i like it ( yes , i do live in the middle of nowhere but thats beside the point ) there is no pollution , no rush hour , and yes , people STILL say hello to you - so 3 cheers for the south !!!

I have been born and raised in the south. I love the weather, and most of the people. I have traveled alot, and as long as it is warm, I think that I could live anywhere. I have my eye on Maui after I complete my Nursing degree.

Tansun, I'm in TX and sometimes people gripe about Yankees coming down here, etc. They say we were born here, TX bred, etc.
The yankee comeback is: you may have been born there, but I CHOOSE it!

Well, are you going to stick out like a sore thumb and ask where everyone's horses are? Or how about 'where's your ranch located'?? hehe, I actually used to live on a real cattle ranch for 5 years in the boonies. I learned how to deliver calves and make jam and jelly and bread from scratch and all kinds of other fun things 
anyway, nah, for the most part, we're friendly down here but it also depends on where you go too.
But, you gotta know that whereever you go, there are buttheads - Texas is no different.

Southern ladies are some of the sweetest you'll ever meet! We were brought up on downhome cooking and never meeting a stranger. We can work in the garden during the day, then slip into stilettos and a cocktail dress that night.
Especially us Blonde Georgia Peaches!
