Thanks needinfo, I guess interpharm and P24 are on my avoid list now. P24 has Eurocare right on their packages.

Antigone - I'm sorry - what do you mean by that? I don't see Eurocare on the list or anything relating to Pharma24. It is a long list and I probally missed it. Why do you say you won't order from them again? Thanks!

I know i'm a blockhead but can somebody translate this? Is this for customs to 'keep an eye out for'? I know it's from the FDA but how does it fit into the picture? Can't the pharmacies change their packaging method (i.e - not stamp EUROCARE on the envelope?) Sounds simple enough eh?

Dear Folks--
I just posted this so that you could all make your own informed decisions. I do know that I have seen some of the names on the list discussed on the Boards.
If a dummy like me can find an official site of the US Government then I am sure than some dummy from the DEA or Customs can also find it.
I would expect that remailers take a lot of the risk out of ordering which is why they are so important. I would also think that if a remailer's package is seized his or her name and address may go on some list that Customs has.
All in the risks of the business, I guess. Good luck to all and use your own judgment.

I've had the Import Alert bookmarked for a while now...although the date of February 2003 is currently on top, scroll down the list and check when these OPs were added. MM and PharmaGroup were added in 2001, EuroCare in 1996, etc. InterPharm is just among the newwest to be added to this list.
REASON FOR
ALERT : FDA has observed an increase in the promotion and importation of unapproved prescription drugs of foreign origin. Unapproved prescription drugs present serious safety and effectiveness concerns. Moreover, approved U.S. versions of these drugs are available. Therefore, this import alert is being established to provide a listing of known distributors.
GUIDANCE: Districts may detain without physical examination all dosage forms and shipments, commercial and personal, of foreign manufactured unapproved prescription drugs from distributors listed in the attachment. Districts should determine whether the drugs are covered by a current approved NDA or IND. FDA has concluded that shipments of these foreign manufactured unapproved prescription drugs are inappropriate for release under the personal importation policy.

Thank you for posting that, that's very informative.
Don't you think Federal employees would better be utilized looking for biological weapons, explosives, chemical weapons, or other hazardous materials since we are currently at war with Iraq and Terrorists? Or are we at war with people who need affordable prescription drugs? Just my .02 cents.

Those bulletins from FDA shouldn't scare anyone. FDA has been putting them out for years and they seem to have no effect on those place's success in getting stuff through Customs. Absolutely no effect, in my opinion. Many of the places they listed years ago still have maybe a 90% arrival rate.
FDA provides a valuable public service by telling us what OPs are out there. I've found some good ones by reading the FDA bulletins and then checking the sources out by reading the posts on DB.
FDA lists many places without web sites that operate the old-fashioned way: mail order. Maybe it's worth investing in some stamps and asking for price lists ... huh?
It's too bad that the bulletins like this one don't give us the supplier's e-mail addresses and URLs. To get those you need to go to the place where they show the warning letters that they send out to the sellers ... some of those have the names of their web sites listed in the letter.

BoyHowdy... Ya'll made me feel better! I'm waiting on 3 different orders from 3 different OPs, one being MM. They are usually much quicker than this, but it's been close to 2 weeks now.
Oh well -- Thanks again for the encouraging words.

just got mine from MM without any unusual delay. so bottom line, the watch list is for the hard core people watching the belts of parcels going by and looking at each and every one trying to win employee of the month prize. I still think the belt may be running a little slower, but the same people are still there, its just the luck of the draw on whose card gets pulled from the deck.

I may be missing something, but who cares what's on the FDA watchlist....I'm only concerned with customs and maybe the DEA...The FDA doesn't have "agents" inspecting our packages as they enter the country...that's customs...this is the Food and Drug Administration folks.....is anyone else really worried about them?

This list means nothing. You need only look at the dates each "warning" is issued. Not one of our beloved pharmacies is listed in 2003 or 2002. You can find a few in 2001, but who cares about some warning put in place back in 2001 if numerous people are presently ordering from them without problem.
Also, whoever mentioned that Interpharm is on this list needs to READ THE LIST! The Interpharm that has a warning is in the Bahamas and is not the Interpharm we all know from Thailand. It is irresponsible and unfair to the people at Interpharm to carelessly warn users against using them when in fact it was obviously a different organization with the warning.
