I too got this email. In fact, I had two copies of the same email messages sent to the same email address. If anyone does know anything about it, sure would like to know.

probably good all tracking cookies.. IF you click on a certain page while surfing, people can load your computer with spy ware... For more info go to www.wilderssecurity.com or www.wilders.org for their download pages. I would start with spyware blaster download. Its easy to use. "key loggers is another big threat these days. Thats where people can actually see the keys your keyboard types.. Basicly, If you click on a certain site per say.. It can deliver your computers IP address and if they have your IP address it is getting easier & easier to get your screen name. So we obviously visited a site & got spam unless DB knows something about it which I am going to notify them of my post & maybe they will reply ... and needless to say they will probably either move my post or better yet delete it.

***note this should not freak anyone out it is probably not virus related but just letting you know the possiblities but it is probably just spam
From somebody who knows how these things work & deal with them day to day

If you think that commercial spyware is scary.Look at what are own government is cooking up. Type magic lantern into google and see what you get. Basically it is the mother of all keylogger's. They claim it is for catching criminals. So they can break encryption by logging your pgp key or passwords. To much like orwell's 1984 for me.The statement Big brother is watching is very true in 2003. Everyone have a great day. WS

FYI, I got this too. Sent an unsubscribe, I hope that didn't just confirm that I received and encourage them to keep sending. It's the one (almost) SPAM-free mailbox I've got.

I wanted to point something out, though, and I hope I'm not sticking my neck into the guillotine here. I didn't get this mail at my IP e-mail or any other than the one I use for on line transactions.

I got the same mail today, and wondered right away where It came from. Really upset me & made me wonder who is watching what I do online? I make sure not to easily give out my e-mail address, so getting this was weird!

While curiosity is killing my cat here, I am trying very hard not to click on those sites and see what's up. Since I didn't get a strange email that gave me the willies, I will count my blessings and leave it at that.

There is so much spyware out there anymore it's not funny. Anyone remember when that word wasn't in our vocabularies?

I just downloaded a spyware detector/cleaner called "Spy-bot.". It's free and developed by a fellow in Germany. By using this program and the pop-up blocker, I have virtually eliminated all pop-ups, SPAM and generally creepy e-mails like you guys received. The first time I used the program, I was schoked to find I had over 200 "spy links" in my system. There's also an "immunization" button in Spy-Bot which blocks the creeps from re-planting their spyware back onto your system.

If you want to check out Spy-Bot, it's at:

ya .. I know a guy that says he isn't going to buy anymore cd's but just do the share ware deal. he said he didn't see how they could tell who he was. Ha hA .. well just asked the kids who had to settle on the law suit that the gov. did nail and they have to pay back some serious bucks.. Your IP (internet service provider ) has all your personal information and all they have to do is match the IP address & get that info from your provider. In a way yes some things need to be done by the gov. but that is way to much room for power abuse. So far the people have been able to hold them down with the privacy issue. Do I support porn? NO NO NO. Do I support illegal activity? NO NO NO.. but I don't want the government in my home..

As far as hackers.. To some its just a big game between security companies & them. Good hackers bad hackers.. Good guys bad guys ( you know the game. & the average user is in the middle. Crooks are only a small portion of the term hackers. As a matter as a fact "Script encoded with ___ - dj"

want to know just what info you're broadcasting on the net & how vulnerable you are? Go to https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 , and scroll down the page to "Test My Shields!" and "Probe My Ports!" and try the two out. You may be very surprised (and worried) at what you discover. And FWIW I'm not affiliated with those folks in any way. If you prefer, you can do a web search & find plenty of other sites out there that will test your security.

I gave it a click.. "404 Error: The File You Are Looking For Can Not Be Found!" My Network Intrusion software didn't report anything weird happening on my system so it appears to be safe, although i'm running Unix and have everything very secure so i'm rarely affected by these things anyway..

It does not have to be a virus to be dangerous ... read up... & update security always..
not** There are programs out there that claim to help but in fact are loaded up with spyware, viruses, trogans etc.. DOn;t think spyware is harmless it runs in the background and sucks up alot of ram (memory speed & space) usually causing more computer crashes.. DOn;t download anything from "Pureity" claims to do a wonderful job. Note most companies legit do not spam you & only send info if you request. that isn't all security & cleaning related but most. Also those using Norton anyting.. If you get an email that says norton , anti virus , works or something like that. Youcan check with symatic to see if these people are legit. Some are just bootleggers others just have nothing better to do but to see if they can slip a fast one.

spyWARE BLASTER rocks cause it works in real time... NEXT For everyone . "Keep updated because if you don;t tomorrow there will be new loop holes. Adware 6 is good.. Spy bot search & destroy GOOD.. if you get that then you can download the spyware blaster on the control panel. I would still recomend a firewall. zone labs zone alarm has a free version ( but read up on it before you run it. NOte.. These things only help ( there is always a way through ) but without out them YOU ARE A SITTING DUCK The number 1 cause of computers at the repair shop is due to viruses & spyware ( nothing wrong with the hardware at all unless its old) nOTE NOT ALL PROBLEMS

Do you all remember when windows didn't even have updates? That wasn't even the slang before. I do rember old pac man. Some of you gamers out there might want to check out mame or mame 32. Old arcade games. It is a little harder to download than just click and down load but man they've got the old ping & pong , vangaurd, galaga, centipede and the list goes on. We have gotten off topic "but it seems our heading is the only thing off now cause we are all on the same page. Maybe in the notify moderator updates, they could change & move a heading instead of all the posts if they were all on the same page. "just a thought"

But no, I probably want be using the old "getmedsquick either" This topic was brought up about them too. Looks like a legit place but not with legit prices"

Has anyone here received multiple copies of this email? For the last several days I've received 3 or 4 identical emails from them each day which I just delete. Unfortunately I can't block the sender's email addy as I've reached my maximum number of addresses I can block (hotmail, but at least its not my "real" email address).

Take care.
