DB,
I know you already spend too much time with off topic posts and mean posts and insensitive posts and just plain silly posts, but I would like to see the "Removed Posts" forum reinstated. Today I went to US/Feedback and there's a person who begins a post by wondering why his earlier post had been removed! Perhaps if people would check out the criteria for posting, and/or the removed posts, then they would get a better idea of what is an acceptable post and what is not. Maybe moving the forum further up the page would help people see it and maybe they could benefit from it.

I have had my share of warnings and love notes from the moderator, but instead of ranting and raving forever about it, I re-read the posting rules and started checking out the "removed posts" so that I could better learn what type of post is appreciated and what type simply wastes space and a lot of time for a lot of people.

Take Care,
Toky

I would too. Kept thinking something was missing but I couldn't figure out what.

Especially the posts that are just repeats of other posts. We already have threads about them, we don't need to start new posts. As it just makes it more confusing.

We noticed that some people liked to post off topic just to have their posts moved to the "removed posts forum" or were postin improperly on purpose just hoping their post could be seen for a day or two at that forum...
And we removed it!

It is important for all not to hit the reply button from off topic posts because when we delete a bad post, a post that breaks our posting rules, we also remove all replies to them...

Ya know, it just never occurs to me the lengths people will go to in order to see their name in print. I hadn't thought of using that forum as a place for even more silly posts!

Hmmm... in reading your post I guess I should have replied to my own original post in case someone thinks yours should be removed, right?

Take care,
toky

The forum is there but can not be seen.
Some members (most gone) liked to see their posts there and posted non sense on purpose. That is why we made it invisible!

We will give access to those interested in seeing them provided that
1. They are among the members that help us moderate the board. By helping we mean those that have been pressing the "Notify Moderator Botton" on a regular basis to let us know where the improper posts were
2. They are not making improper posts too often

Is that fair?

Sounds fair enough. I still don't understand why people would go out of their way to do that, but hey, we each have our own 'thing', right?

take care,
toky

WOW!!!!
How do I say "thanks"???? Thank you, DB!!!
I know it's a bit late, but between ringing the Salvation Army Bell and going to PT over my last surgery, I've really not had time to check in on the boards.

Thank you so much for the VIP membership!! I love both boards, and visit each regularly. I'm so surprised by this award, I only found out tonight, because I got a calling card as a gift, and called a member on the phone, who told me I had won a subscription!! Wow, I really feel like it's everyone else who gives all the good info and advice and kind words.

Thanks again, and by now, Happy New Year to Everyone!!
Take Care,
Toky

DB would it be to much for you to post a small explaination in the removed posts as, or where they were removed from? I've noticed that there is no reason (posted) as to why they were removed. Even though it's obvious to more experienced members the newbies probably don't understand. Example: Wrong Forum,Rude,Off Topic.

We made that forum invisible again.
The new board allows the moderator to post an explanation for moved posts if the moderator feels it is needed...

The removed posts forum is an "invisible forum" and that is were we send all off topic, unpolite, an improper posts. The posts stay there for a few days, (for administrative purposes), and then get deleted

Members wanting to see that forum must do 3 things:

1. Help the moderator by pressing the "Notify Moderator Button" on a regular basis
2. Post by the rules
3. Ask the moderator for access to it.

Yes, DB, I agree with Toky. I have had several posts deleted but do not know why. I have gone back and read and re-read the rules and still, for the life of me, 99% of the time I do not understand why they were deleted.

Like Baddad suggested: Just a short little explanation would help us all be better posters. Like rude, info should have been pm'd, too political, off-topic, posted in wrong forum, too personal, moderator has pms and a handgun today, etc.

I don't have any good ideas how you would go about insituting a system like this, but I'm just trying to give you a picture of what would help us. Maybe just set up an example forum with posts that have been deleted and the reason why!? Not using the poster's name, just substituing the word anonymous or something.

Someone referred me to this in a PM and I thought I would bump it back up so we would all remember what the Mod's do.

Thanks DB. If I do goof up, please let me know what I did wrong.

As an aside, it reminds me of my spanking my boys years ago and they always wanted to know what they did.

"Just wait until your Daddy gets home," so hours later I'm whipping my kids for something and I don't know they did and neither do they. How did those boys get grown???

Good work DB. I've enjoyed my short time here.
