Tuppaware is wonderful. Just keep what you need in the house. PVC pipe works too.

CarolynP - with 1 vicodin someone got a felony charge. POCS "posession of a con. sub.", and that sux, because they're very educated and with such, no major corp. will hire. It took two years in court to fight, ended up with probation and all sorts of classes, etc. and community service= scrubbing toilets around town for months. It got "knocked down" to a misd. there was not a Rx for this person in this case. They got through it and you will too. Get educated on the law in your state, county and make sure you're with a good attorney. PM if you want anymore info.

My first post -- (yea!) but wanted your thoughts on this - I travel quite a bit for work and have had my meds ripped off at least twice from hotels (presumed by teh maid staff) when they are in the amber bottles - so now I just put everything in a baggie in my "ditty bag" (shave kit for you non vet nam'ers) Is this creating a greater risk than necessary - maybe I should photcopy the scripts and keep with?

These issues are very fuzzy. I know several police officers and one DEA agent. THey have told me it would be rare to be busted for a "few pills". They also said the safest thing is to keep them in the orginal containers, but if travelling and concerned with theft all have said just take the original bottles and hide the meds-be sure to find out how many pills would be considered too many to have-wanting to avoid trafficking and intent to sale issues. But I feel confident the officers I know are shooting straight with me. Good luck.

I no longer post or pm. Those who talk to me, use email. Much safer that way.

its worse than that. many years ago, i think in the sixties a "friend" was arrested and jailed because he had his blood pres meds and an anacin tab in his poket pill box. he "zeroxed" the law and showed it to everyone and as i remember you can have a vitimin out of its original container and they can arrest you. But let me say Paul Harvey (not on purpose) caused me to investigate one of those ridiculous things you hear about. "A man had to sell his house to pay exscaped covicts that broke in and were shot" i just could not believe a judge or jury would do this and i was correct.. The rest of the story was that this was an abandoned farmhouse that had a shotgun hooked to the door and when the exscapees broke in one was shot and they sued the man. "lawyers?" anyway i consider this broadcast worse than the most damnedable lie on all the "networks" that carried it.
But it taught me a valuable lesson. Space is limited but consider this, Al Capone was given many years in jail for tax evasion. NOT.
goodwill to all. peace.

you couldnt be more right about that. NJ is ridiculous. I gre up in Toms River, right outside of Seaside Heights and lets just say I don't doubt for a second that his story is true.

"Southern chain gang state" tell ya something really funny and telling about stuff you hear and see on TV. I saw this "southern state" reference and would like anyone who dont know that when "Joe", "thomas","Alton" was in the joint the way they got on the chain gang was thru a favor or they had to buy it ! You couldnt get on the chain gang for free. If you think about it you can figer out why. Makes a good story for the press? tho.

i too am from NJ and can completely sympathize with sweat on the whole thing. i must add how ridiculous NJ is when it comes to drugs. i was arrested once for "loitering with the intent"...?? how the heck could they even decide that? anyway, i had to get a lawyer and it was tossed out.
bunch of bs.

well that's it . now i'm downright terrified. i have several orders pending from overseas ops. not big things.
but still. first you hear, that customes, dea, etc. doesn't have the time or manpower. then you hear about a woman getting busted for empacod ( a joke of a painkiller) and some guy getting thrown in the slammer for having a couple of valium.
all this would drive anyone to reach for an antianxiety anything just to feel ok living in the Orwellian landof Big brother.
sorry if off topic. just paranoid and ranting.

I will be the 1st person on this board to point out the illegalities of ordering from foriegn sources. However these are rare instances, so I wouldn't loose much sleep over something you have little control over.
Take care. Billylll

I do think that law enforcement has better things to
take care of. But I would be the poor slob
that they catch and decide make an example of.
I think that the best thing is not to have too much of one thing ( intent to distribute).
The law has to consider that alot of us
do have a legitimate need for these meds and
we are tired of american pharmacies ripping
us off @!#$!

This is a very, very important topic. I don't know if there are other threads that deal with it--I found this one by accident--but I carry benzos (fluorazepam) and 10/500 hydos, both with RXs. I carry all sorts of vitamins, Pepcid, etc. with the benzos in the original benzo bottle. The hydros go in another bottle with a copy of my printout from United Pharmacy. I hope that's enough. Now I have a backpack; what's a guy wearing a suit supposed to do with a huge bottle like they use for #90 hydros?
