Hi,
Some of the "legal" worries some members have reported are SCARY! I haven't ordered anything yet and wonder what the percentage of folks getting in trouble over getting needed meds is. I"ve been researching for months, but can't seem to push the "order" button. Anyone with lots of experience of ordering from foreign OPs having any blazing insight?
I'd be ordering codeine, diezapam and possibly soma, fiornal/fiorcet(for migraine--haven't tried them, but my ins only pays for #9 Imitrex/month).
Thanks in advance,
Aisha

Hi,
I have heard many people here say to keep orders small, order infrequently and only go with reputable pharms that package discretely....
I have limited experience with overseas ordering for myself..
But, I order for friends and family and so far no seizures because I follow the advice above.... Poco

You should keep your orders small for a couple of reasons. It is probably easier to get it through customs, and if it is detected, you do not want to be accused of "intention to distribute." They are both real risks. Even plain possession conviction can result is loss of driver's license (mandatory in my state)
That said, I order mostly from foreign pharmacies. Every now and then you find a good friendly or domestic source, but often they are very expensive. Even this has risks.
You need to be able to afford to do this, that is can you take an occasoinal loss? It happens. Not often with established foreign pharmacies, but it does. I pay mostly with a credit card (note: not debit card) I can, and do sometimes use Western Union and even send cash (not often, but do have a cash source)
Foreign sources often take 10 to 30 business days to get you order. Also, there are potential problems with foreign prescriptions. It seems that state and federal law enforcement have the choice to disregard foreign prescription, meaning they are worthless, regardless of what the pharmacy tells you.
Next there are state and federal laws that pertain to ordering, and importing prescription medications, also amendments. There is actually an amendment that says you cannot bring a medication back into the United States, if it was manufactured here and then expoorted.
I am not trying to scare you, I order and will continue to. I have heard of no one, directly or indirectly, that has ever had seriuos consequences for doing this. Sometimes an accasional customs seizure or missing order, but even the USPS lost a return receipt express maill we sent two weeks ago, so stuff happens!
Prices aqre better with foreign pharmacies, but can be unpredictable. You need to make up your own mind, and if you have doubts, stick with a local doctor and pharmacy, or even a consult.
Wish I had better information for you.

I can identify with you a lot - I was worried about the legal implications - I trawled all of the relevant threads in DB and spoke to people (PM) and read all DB's stuff on it. I got to the point where I realised that it was illegal full stop, to bring any prescription drug whether scheduled or not, into the country without an import license - The OP's will tell you it's OK to bring in 3 months supply - that's wrong, you can bring in a small personal supply of certain prescription drugs on your person only if you have been abroad and you have to declare it. Some people in forums like DB will tell you that if you get caught all you will receive is a seizure notice (OP's like Interpharm even run insurance on these seizure notices, if your shipment gets nabbed just email them it and they will deliver again), a seizure notice is usual for the kind of meds you are talking about - but be in no doubt that it is illegal and that they can pay you a visit and arrest you and charge you if they are of a mind to. 99% of the time they don't you just get the notice, but still always be aware of the ultimate scenario.
Your biggest worry is the codiene because it is scheduled as a narcotic - weak as it is - they will sniff it out quicker than any other med in my experience!
People have said this already but it's worth repeating. Avoid direct delivery from Thialand or India if you live in the USA. They are red flags to customs officials. Wait till an OP like Interpharm delivers from it's European hub. Most OP's will force you into getting only small packages at a time, and if you make a large order expect it to be staggered into many small deliveries over many months (if you make a large order try and give multiple adresses, some OP's demand this). Always stay anonymous, never give your real name or address away in any forum. Always use a remote email address not your IP's screen name email. Set up a Postal Box for delivery - this means you don't need to give any of your real details to the OP, just a John Doe name and the PO Box number (you can put the basic address and zip code of the PO Box holder in the required fields). When giving them a telephone number always use a pay-as-you-go mobile number. When paying OP go down to Western Union and pay cash - you don't need any ID for this just put down any old name and address, as long as it's the same one you give OP for purposes of picking payment up that's fine (remember to clarify the distinction with the WU address and the PO Box delivery address to OP). Remember to give that pay-as-you-go number only as a contact number.
Now this is important when paying through WU don't look scared or guilty and never say what you are sending money for - If asked say it's a relative, a non blood relaitive and it's his birthady - use your imagination. Never get pushed into supplying the receivers ID - you don't need to no matter what WU say - OP will give you a secret question to put down for ID matters - If asked why your 'relative' does not want to be identified, say it's the way they like it "he's an old man/woman and so old fashioned and untrusting" etc etc.
It is important at this point that I make clear I am not encouraging people to break the law, just to protect themselves and their precious supply of meds.
There isn't much more I can tell you - all I have said works for me - I wish you luck!
The best way to avoid being ripped off by an OP is watch the boards - it's like stocks and shares - when you see an OP being lauded on a constant basis by lots of people - jump on it while it's good!

Lex,
Everyone has provided very useful advice, but the ultimate decision has to be yours, and yours alone. With this choice comes responsibility for your actions. The key to the whole thing is patience. Take your time, read, research, and read more. Private message some people you feel you can trust, get various opinions on sources that have come through for people time and time again. Find people that live in your general area, and see how they are going about it.
This whole ordering medications from overseas, and even in your own country is definitely a broad grey area. It's not all cut and dry, black and white. I can't say there won't be any risk involved, but the best you can do is cut the risks down to the very minimum. If people were getting arrested left and right, you would know it. Just use your intuition, and remember if something sounds to good to be true, it is!
Patience is a virtue!
Best of luck, and remember your paranoia is a good thing that should cause you to make a more informed safer decision.

yes- it is against the law. But I have searched all over the internet for an arrest and have not found one. I have searched newspapers and cannot find one. I even had a package opened by customs and sent anyway. I would advise only receiving from overseas and only the one's that ship directly to your mailbox. You are not alone though- I also get worried sometimes.
