what happens if an OP is investigated, or busted, or whatever?... do they come after the clientele? and if so what happens? By using a US OP, the fda site says this is legal and okay, but I worry I'll get blindsided with something and wanted reassurance this is all legal. I go the portamedic route, using only 1 OP. thanks for any insight.
If you're using a US OP (especially with a port-a-medic) you're fine. They are legal, for now. When you see posts with people really worrying its the Int'l OPs they're worrying about.
KLM,
I've always wondered and worried about that myself. Up to this point, I haven't heard of any problems.
But I am with you...because personal information is out there.

A portamedic is a separately contracted company, that sends a person to your home or office or allows you to go to them and they perform a physical of sorts determined by the contract they have with the OP.
Most do not draw blood or gather a urine speciman.
Usually they take your vital statistics...BP, Pulse, respirations, weight...and may ask about drug allergies...
Pretty much what happens before see you a doctor at the office, when the nurse comes in first and takes your temperature etc...
Generally a fast and painless experience.
