In the thread titled "ImportedDrugs.com - India" under "Feedback based in personal experience (int´l)" when I was describing my credit card transaction with the OP, I mentioned I had used and always use a "single-use" credit card number generated by a program supplied by my bank. A couple of people indicated they had never heard of that service and ask for more information. But since general discussion of credit cards beyond the specific transaction with the OP would be off topic in that thread, I am posting my reply here.
Basically it works like this. I have programs supplied by my credit card banks (for free) that will actually generate a valid "one shot" credit card number with a maximum limit I designate. After the transaction is completed that number is canceled and therefore of no use to crooks, and the credit card limit I designate protects me from charges greater than I authorized. The charges appear on my statement absolutely normally as if I used my actual real card number. I never have to give out my real number. (and no, there is not a way you can use it without it showing up on your bill) I never spend one second worrying about who has my number.
I use it with Discovercard and MBNA Mastercard. I believe it is a common service so perhaps many other banks provide this service too. Check your banks website or call there customer service.
The Discovercard site is.

It's getting more common but not every card issuer has it yet. Citibank has a downloadable program that generates extra account numbers for all their credit cards. You can generate as many as you want, and specify if you want them useable only once, or if you want to specify their charge limits and expiration periods and use them multiple times. Citibank calls them Virtual Account Numbers ... and they track each one's charges separately, and you can cancel them online:

You are right on to make that post. And yes it is becoming more and more common. I just want to ad my 2 cents in as well: A one time use credit card are good to make a purchace online but the are a few downfalls~you can't use them to pay month;y bills, rent a car and sometimes will not work at all because for insatnce someone using a discover card may have the same exp. date that is on you one time use card. But you were right on when saying no worries: Hackers have no use for a credit card of that type.

Thanks for credit card tip. I know credit card fraud is always a concern when doing an online purchase. Does anybody have any info regarding OPs that have taken advantage of somebodys credit card info. If so, please list the names of the pharmacies. This would be great info for everybody on this board. Thanks
