Hello. Okay. This is worrying me. I will be moving to Honolulu in a September from California. I was wondering what the best way to carry /bring along my xanax. I do have about 30 of them which I rarely take, but they are there 'just in case'.
I do have an original bottle still that I received from a Florida pharmacy after doing a phone consult in '02. In '03 I had an online consult thru Trusted Meds in Amsterdam and was shipped about 40 of them, but they came in plastic bubble wrap and in a small box.
I've considered putting them all in that one bottle (as it has my name on it), or putting them in an Aleve bottle (since the blue Aleve and the 1 mg Xanax look very similar), or simply putting that original Amsterdam box in my Boxes that I will take to US Post office for shipping.
But I am just not sure if boxes sent to Hawaii are randomly opened or not (I do know Media mail can be opened, but this would be clothes and kitchen stuff). I also do not know if I go thru some 'checkpoint' on arrival in Honolulu (I know they have agriculture inspection while Leaving Hawaii, but dont remember about 'entering' Hawaii or not.) I am also not sure if simply 'mailing' myself those xanax would be a good idea (as I've heard of rules about using the mail to ship drugs interstate). I did get a prescription from Trusted meds that they included in the box, although it does not look like any prescripton you'd see here in the US, I'm wondering if that would be good as well..
So I dont know if Im getting myself worked up about this or not. I know Hawaii has a big 'ice' methanphetamine problem and that is one reason why Im a bit over zealous about being checked or having my packages checked. I remember when I ordered from Trusted Meds, they said they do not ship to Hawaii, but California was fine.
Any advice would be appreciated..

I would just put them in the old bottle w/ your name on it it is a zanax bottle right?? there is nothing that the can do it was prescribed to you right don't worry that a zanax OK.. Or i'm sure if they were mixed w/ the aleve no one would go through the whole bottle and inspect each pill thats just crazy. I one was arrested b/c of a traffic ticket i forgot about and in my purse had my boyfriends oxycontin prescription in my purse they didn't even look at the bottle. I really don't remember if they were in my prescription bottle or mine?? but the police at the jail did not question at all and i went to 2 different jails the most horrible and embarrasssing time of my life...i must say..

I worked for DHL and you have no idea how much, cocaine, illegal drugs are shipped though DHL..we knew what was in the packages and never even cared, us as drivers just wanted to make it out of there alive LOL you should have seen some of the crack houses we had to deliver to, BUT anyway, in my opinion, I would definately ship it to myself and just make sure you have a real phone number on the slip to contact you in case the driver cant find the house..if you cant be contacted, then DHL will open the package to see if there is anything in there to track where it goes to I would used one of the DHL boxes, that are supplied in the dropboxes..put a couple of rolled up shirts in there with the bottle of pills and you will have nothing to worry about. I always do that and I tape both ends of the box.

I flew to Hawaii back in September and have a script for Xanax from my local doc that I rarely take unless I can't sleep. I just stuck it in my carry-on and nobody looked at it or cared. Think about it: Millions of travelers are prescribed benzos, narcotics, sleeping pills, etc, etc. and I've not heard of any of them being busted. Here's my .02 cent's worth: Leave 'em in the bottle with your name on it. Put them in your carry-on and fuhgettaboutit. You'll be just fine. Just don't take any weed. ;-)

Take weed from the mainland to Hawaii...there's a laugh! Seriously you should have no problems at all, if you're that worried pack it in your checked baggage.
JethroMole is right, I fly with all my meds in carry-on, several pill bottles and inhalers, nobobdy's ever questioned me about any of them. That's not their job, to catch people w/ prescription drugs, they couldn't care less...unless, of course, you live in Kentucky!

My husband and I travel all the time and as I am on about 4 different anxiety and pain meds I have some experience with this. I would use the bottle with your name on it and just carry them with you. When you are going through the check points (any security) just put the bottle in you're pocket...If anyone askes, since they are anxiety pills you can say that you need them for the flight. This is also why you want the bottle with your name on it. Hope this helps...BTW, I wouldn't ship them or pack them...we have had A LOT of stuff, make-up, clothes, fishing stuff, stole out of our bags by TSA...if they see xanax someone will take it.

I agree with pixxie, I travel a lot (just got back form out of country). I always carry my meds in my carry on (purse, bag). Never once has anyone questioned my meds. Do not check them with your luggage as stated above several times, your luggage will more than likely get searched (just routine now, seems like my curling iron is usually the cause!)

ya..its your med...just put it in the bottle in your pocket...noone can do anything..why worry about this..
