Any experience in the Dominican Republic?

Anyone bought meds in the Dominican? I'm wondering what pain relievers they have and how expensive.

In my one visit to Dominican Republic, I was able to buy some TylexCD (tylenol 3) from a pharmacist without a doctor's prescription. He gave me a stern caution about not taking too many, not driving etc, and I got the feeling that if I had come back for more he would have probably said "no".

There was a pharmacy at the all inclusive place we stayed.
They sold no controlled substances. But that doesn't mean
that they don't in Casa de Campo.
It is a third world country, be careful, robberies happen
frequently.
A couple, who live close to me, stayed at a shelter during the last hurricane, they came
back to there hotel room and found police officers
raiding their room for what they said were 'dry clothes'.
One of the officers did have on the guys jeans and a shirt.
