I am flying on 03/06 and wondering about my meds and airport screening. Currently the are in blister paks. Should I bury them inside cloths, put them in my pocket, take them out of the paks and place in a bottle? Any advice would great
I agree with another member... that you should put it in a prescription bottle. (Preferably one with your name on it to identify who's medication it is) Hiding it might cause trouble so i suggest being honest about it as much as you can. They shouldn't hassle you if you do it this way.

I fly almost weekly on business. Have never had any issues with medication. Did hear of a passenger whose meds whose meds were stolen by a screener. I do now carry some meds in their perscription container. I also take one of those 7 day med containers with vitamins. No one has ever looked at them or ever taken a look at the prescription containers. I never put meds in checked baggage.
As for matches and lighters. Starting in April, no lighters in either checked baggage or to be carried on. Matches are ok as long as are not the "strike anywhere" type.

When I flew, I took whatever scripts I needed and put them in a single bottle that had the label and all on it. I wasn't questioned or searched. I did take a flight soon after 911 and they searched all of us, even the kids. Went through my purse and all. I still was not questioned about my meds.

Sam -
I have had business associates who have had items taken from their checked luggage - twice it was medications (no one ever listens to me! "don't put your meds in your checked luggage stoopid!" lol), occassionally someone comes up missing an expensive clothing item (a Prada handbag comes to mind here, and yep, I would be super duper angry!). So far, I haven't had anything taken from my checked luggage but whooeee, if I did, I sure would be angry!
I think the meds issue is kind of like we experience here sometimes with some of the OP's - afraid to make a stink out of it being stolen becuase you don't want to rock the boat. But I'm a big time boat rocker and wouldn't have any problem at all screaming and yelling about this - I wonder what airline policy is on stolen meds? The two people I know who had meds taken from them flew same airline within a week of each other, never reported it because of not wanting our firm to go crazy over them having *those* kinds of meds. I thought that was ridiculous but neither of them went to the airline authorities.

I just got back from a trip - I carried on meds in origional containers, but just because I was going to be gone so long and didn't have a container large enough. Hubby put all his into one without any info for his trip and had no problems. Just make sure to carry them!!!! Luggage can and is gone through and, while background checks help, there are some five-fingured shoppers, just like at the shipping places.
Now, you'll love this - lighters are not allowed, but 10 inch metal knitting needles are (from personal experience - even asked security about them, carried them on on way home). Go figure...

make a joke about a bomb & you WILL miss your flight....are you nuts? HAVE YOU MISSED THE SIGNS IN BIG LETTERS SAYING ALL JOKES ABOUT BOMBS WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY??? I fly ALL the time...put the pills in a tylenol bottle & put it in your carry on ...you'll never be questioned but NEVER, EVER make a joke about a BOMB in the security line unless you want to spend ALOT of time IN the airport security office! Totally moronic advice!

I was on a school trip once, over 10 years ago. One of my classmates made a joke about carrying a bomb on the plane (very obvious joke, wasn't even talking to security) and was detained. Security took him and questioned him. I think he had to take the next flight or something, but it was ridiculous. I wanted to add that an airport employee overheard him.
