I just missed UPS. Is there anyway for me to get them to come back today? They are going to be around my neighborhood all day.

It is doubtful. Usually unless the driver is told he will not return untill the following day.

You can try calling 1-800-PICKUPS. maybe they can get a message to the driver to attempt redelivery today.
Good luck.

Take your notice and go find him. If you can't find him What places in your area ship UPS? He will be stopping at them at the end of the day to pick up packages that need to go back to the hub. You will probably find him there around 5:00 pm.

Maybe call Ups and tell them it is important that you get your prescription medication and hopefully they will have a heart. Or if not you can pick it up at the hub around 7pm tonight. Good luck

Headache,
In the past, when i've missed UPS, in my area they will let people come to the hub after 6 pm to pick up their packages. They wait until the drivers return with the undelivered packages, then open up for an hour or so to allow people to pick them up. Don't know if they do this in your area, but it's worth a call to UPS to find out.
Good luck to you.

Do us all a favor and don't go running after the UPS driver demanding your prescription medication. Simply call 1-800-PICK-UPS and arrange to pick up your package at the end of the day when the drivers return to the local hub. It's [censored] like this that raises eyebrows. Keep it low key.

I agree, running after the UPS truck is not cool. Isn't this part of what the big uproar is in Kentucky? Calling UPS to see if you can pick it up at the hub after the driver returns is the best idea, or request that they leave it at the hub for you to pick up Friday morning.

I called them and they called the local center who contacted the driver. They then called me and told me that he would be back around 2:00. He came back at 1:30 and get this. I WAS ASLEEP!!! I ran out in the yard and tried to catch him but I guess he didnt see me as he drove off. I just got back from the hub where I picked it up.
I dont know if he would've come back any other day because he happened to have 2 other packages for me.

First, the previous posters are correct ... never, ever chase after the UPS truck, swinging your notice and asking for your medication. That is exactly one of the actions that began part of the uproar in KY.
Whether or not the driver has a heart has nothing to do with whether the driver returns to your home for a 2nd attempt on the same day. Our drivers are permitted one (1) attempt per day, on 3 consecutive days. Anything outside that attempt is outside of policy and a courtesy. It's best to be thankful in that case.
Everyone seems to think that the only package the driver has to deliver it theirs, so they can return because "the driver must still be in their neighborhood." I get so sick of hearing this. It simply is not always true.
If a delivery attempt is missed you MUST call the PICK-UPS number and request that the package be removed from the truck. Within one hour of the request a UPS employee will call you to arrange a time and place, usually the UPS Delivery Center, where you can pick up the package, after the close of business, when the driver returns. The staff then removes your package from the truck, takes it in to the counter and has it available when you show up. It causes a major disruption if you simply show up at the Delivery Center asking for a package you missed. The staff then has to stop what they are doing, search the database to locate the truck the package is on, go outside and locate the package, then complete delivery to you. Please, please be respectful and call 1-800-PICK-UPS and make the arrangement so the staff can obtain your shipment and have it ready for you. Again, there are other customers who are at the counter needing to pick up attempts and ship packages.
Just as in everything else in life ... a little understanding and courtesy goes a long way!
Take care,
Lacy ... UPS CSA

BTW, the 2 different ladies I spoke with at UPS were just about the nice CS reps I had ever talked to. They were very nice and understanding.

Go to the hub 30 minutes before they close, or check tracking to see when they get back to hub. Or they will automatically redeliver the next day. If you are not sure you will catch him that day, call the Hub and ask them to hold it if it comes back on second delivery, that you will pick it up later that day. UPS doesn't like to hold onto packages that are COD for very long at all. Policy is after 2nd attempt it goes back to sender, if you don't notify them you will pick it up, and I don't mean next week. ) it will get sent back.

I live in a gated community and recently had a COD order 'out for delivery'. On my way back home one afternoon after purchasing a COD, I noticed my UPS driver having lunch at the local general store. I waited on him to come out (he knows me by sight) and told him "that I think he's got a delivery for me this afternoon" and said, "maybe I can make your afternoon easier and pick it up now" and he went into his truck and got it. I thanked him and he thanked me for helping him out. It shortened his route considerably.
However, there's an ocassional driver on my route that came to my place with a COD delivery one afternoon, and said to me after I answered the door, "here you go, I've got your drugs". Well, I froze and stared at him for a brief moment longer than ordinary and just took my shipment without a word. It wasn't worth my time to explain to him the relief my pain medication makes to me.

CORRECTION...
All COD packages receive 3 attempts. If no delivery can be secured after the 3rd and final attempt, UPS will return the package to the sender that evening. Packages can be held at the delivery center for 5 consecutive business after the 1st or 2nd attempt, but the only option after the 3rd attempt is a same day "will call". If it is not paid for and picked up that evening it goes back. We cannot hold a business' money from them ... they are entitled to payment within a reasonable time ... thus the policy.
