You have Antenolo listed as an antidepressant. I believe it is a beta blocker.

It is a beta-blocker...
I've taken it for several years for symptoms of hyperthyroidism (ie: tachycardia). works great. At 100mg I very rarely experience palpatations.

I thought Atenolol was a Blood Pressure med.

I was initially given this med (100 mg once a day) for high blood pressure.
Although it takes some getting used to -it causes drowziness in some people-
I have found it is a WONDERFUL anti-anxiety agent!! Although you cannot quit it abruptly, it is so much better for me any way than the benzodiazapines which always interrupted my REM sleep.

I used to pick it up all the time for a home staying friend...trying to remember; they put her on atenolol, verapamil, K-dur? ,K_something, and Valium. she had serious heart issues. they finally did an operation that corrected many of the problems; so far, so good. I pray she gets to enjoy a much longer life now.

I take atenolol for my high blood pressure. I am on 1 a day. I take it before I go to bed at night instead of during the day because I read somewhere(I don't remember where) that since it is a beta blocker it reduces the effects of pain medication such as hydro. Has anyone heard that before?
