In a word, no.... When I was running marathons I got caught up in the GHB GBL GABA stuff and it almost took my life. I swear there was a demon in that stuff. Used to get the GBL precursor at gyms etc. under the names Renewtrient, Blue Nitro etc. This is basically the stuff that you put in someones drink to take advantage of them. Yes it did all those things that you said, unfortunately it almost destroyed me in the process..

There is a product called Xryem from Orphan Medical.
www.orphan.com I believe. GHB was scheduled a class 1 felony in 2000 under the samantha reid act, but recently in 2003, Orphan Medical along with the FDA passed Sodium Oxybate (GHB)as a schedule 3 for medical studies only. Then in 2003, Orphan medical branded it's Xryem medication to be used for Narcolepsy and extreme Cataplexy (loss of muscle control in severe cases of Narcolepsy.).
Xryem is tightly monitored and only dispensed out of one pharmacy location (shipped directly to the patient or their local PCP.)..
BUT.... Xryem is going through phase two and three trials to be marketed as an aid to excessive day time sleepiness, which will then probably lessen it's strict prescribing methods and used for off label use.
I too was someone that benefited from this substance for many years (5) to be exact, but also found myself extremely dependent on it. I never did anything bad or dangerous, but the potency of this chemical is so extreme that a person with no or little knowledge of how it works, can over medicate, leaving them in a dangerous position. GHB suppresses dopamine receptors and also down regulates them to some degree, just like ssris do to seretonin. After time, a person builds up a tolerance with withdrawals symptoms similar to extreme opiate and benzo withdrawals mixed at the same time. So, you get the picture on how bad this could be.. There was a major bust called operation webslinger, which rounded up the last of distributors that could sell this substance via online, which then in turn, made ghb almost vanish in it's use.
I would be very careful in considering using this drug, as it does have great benefits, but also has a very high risk of addiction if a person has a constant supply. If you take it as directed, then I can see it being a safe method in treating a wide variety of problems. Read up on this one for sure and don't get caught up in trying to obtain it, unless it's prescribed medically. The penalties are just too great now..
Also a few years ago, you could get 16 oz of this substance for around $20 dollars. Now Xryem costs around $400 for 6oz. Great drug companies eh.....

You must be nuts to think that you can buy GhB online. Can you buy Extacy, herion, cocaine, etc online? I think not. I t fits in the same category. I know more than a hand full of people who have died or nearly died because they misused this drug. It is very dangerous. It is manufactured on the street, in bath tubs. It is easy to missuse because the user will take one "cap" full and not feel anything for awhile, take a couple more "cappers", black out and possibly die. Where i live in FL, they are cracking diwn on this drug hard core. So beware

it aint that bad its fine in moderation i used it many times back when i lived in tampa and only the same retards that od on coke, heroin and other drugs die. know your limits and its fine. it just makes you drunk feeling and you sleep very good. have no clue where and if you can get it. sorry

To say that the only way you can be susceptible to overdose on any illegal drug is by being a 'retard' is asinine. Drugs like GHB (as the previous poster stated) can have wildly varying degrees of potentcy (sp?). Even careful usage of illegal drugs can have substantial unintended consequences. Not advocating nor am I against anything but use this drug with caution. Ok, off my soap box.
I've heard of it being available online under other products, such as cleaners. My friend procured something that looked, acted, tasted like g but was labelled a cleaner. So perhaps you do have to be retarded... :-)

For anybody who thinks GHB is fun let me tell you it is not. My Brother took GHB for years, it made him a pathetic drooling idiot. I encouraged him not to take it but he did not listen. On September 30th of last year my Brother DIED from an overdose of GHB, he was 47 years old, making a Million dollars a year and now he is dead because of GHB.

GHB is good hell it runs through your body everyday. They used to sell it at GNC in powder form (SCOOP) When some jachasses decided to mix it with alcohol then the problems started. "Afew bad apples" To this day nobody has died from GHB alone. Mix in alcohol or some other BS drugs and then you can die.
Sorry to hear about your brother that is sad. I don't want to start an arrgument but I bet it was not GHB alone. I have had 2 close friends pass while on GHB but some other things as well.
Addicting? Most deffinately.
I would love a script for it. Now days people just mix it up anyway they can so you never know what your getting. I stay away from it. But if i had a script

I agree 100%. GHB is fine if you do it all in moderation. The people who OD or die from it are apparently not aware of what the drug can do to you. I used GHB for almost 4 years straight, initially, when it was legal, we would buy it at GNC (supplement store) and then after all the deaths, they took it off the shelves, but briefly you could still buy it online. Now, they have GHB alternatives which are in no way like the real thing AT ALL. I have several guy friends that still do "G" and they buy it from some scumbag kid that is a chemist, and he makes it at home and sells it. I have no idea who he is, but in Boston he is known is "Mr. G-Breeze". Since the homemade [censored] has come to surface, I had stopped taking it. Simply because it is now known as "knock-out punch"...cuz when you take it, you're fine, then literally, two minutes later, you are completely knocked out with no warning whatsoever. Stay away from this stuff if you buy it on the street, it's not cool. Some sites sell it as "floor cleaner"...on home and garden websites?! Not worth the risk. I do, however, know that when the real stuff was available, it was seriously like a wonder drug..it was incredible. You cannot even explain it. I used to say that they should prescribe this legally for people who suffer from anxiety attacks, depression, restlessness and sexual disfunction. I'm sure this is one drug that will NEVER resurface; so don't even bother looking for it online, it's just a waste of your time  Take care all. - Foxy

or Tetramethalglycol
All turn into GHB once ingested and filtered thriugh the liver.

haha, oh my god, I soooooo miss it. Even the taste of it, gross as it was, haha! I remember the first time I did it I was so disgusted with the taste..then towards the end of my use I was sipping it straight, through a straw without even flinching...kinda good that's its gone, cuz I can honestly say that if it wasn't, I'd be a pretty frequent user of it. GHB makes even the most timid people do the most crazy things, hehehe...we won't say what

its real short acting and dependance causing, its hard to think of uses for it other than maybe you are going through opioid withdrawal and you need it a few nights for sleep, or you have a panic attack every now and then. doesnt seem like something one could use often

Thanks for your sympathy. My brothers autopsy showed NO OTHER SUBSTANCES in his system. He was well aware of the dosages to not OD, but did anyhow. He had taken GHB for several years.
GHB is a joke, I have heard all the praise and have seen the devastation. My brother had life by the short hairs, now he is dead because of GHB. Go ahead, dance with the devil, it's your life. Try not to hurt anyone in the process please.

If you like laying there and not being able to function that's your choice. Don't expect Mr. FDA to help you on this one though.
As far as needing to mix GHB with another substance in order to OD - Too much is too much and it will kill you (by itself).
