Hi everyone.....newbie here
I had my first consult today & lortab 7.5 was prescribed...what is the difference between hydrocodone 5/500 & lortab 7.5?
I also want to add this is the best site available & you all seem extremely helpful
The difference is 2.5 mg more of hydro. I wish I knew more about the difference in tylenol. It might be that lortab has 250 mg more apap, or it might have the same (500mg). Hope that helps alittle.
I have a PDR and I looked it up for you. Lortab 7.5/500 is 7.5 mg of Hydrocodone Bitartrate and 500 mg of acetaminophen. The company who developed it is UCB Pharma, Inc. You probably will receive generic hydrocodone from another company. Look on the script bottle and it will tell you what drug company it came from and sometimes it is even stamped on the pill. And like it was said earlier there is 2.5 more mg of Hydrocodone bitartrate from the 5.0 to the 7.5 but the acetaminophen stays the same at 500 mg.
