Interesting...I wonder how many are diagnosed with FMS, and possibly have another ailment?

I don't know how many really have this and are diagnosedwith a "garbage can" diagnosis, because the Dr. doesn't really know what's wrong. I printed out a bunch of the stuff off of the site and am taking all of it to my Dr. in about 2 weeks, cause I am getting worse every day. And The pain in my back and legs are making me use the chair a lot more.
I wish people would look this up and get it more out and around the Drs. so people can get the right treatments. I am on strong continuous meds now and am going to ask for an increase. If not that a partial chordotomy so I can't fell that horrible pain........

Still here.... still in pain.
I have to wait until June for an RHA appt, and my doctor doesn't seem to have researched anything about it as far as treatment, still. After 2 years, my DH finally took the stacks of printouts from my research on the web, along with my tests results, supposedly to read up. My guess is they've either been shuffled or tossed.
Not sure what the rules are about brandnames, but I do want to say I have read up on and then tried both of the following- liquid acidophilis (the expensive kind in the individual yogurt-like cups. Says it has something like the equivalent 25 capsules- tastes like kefir) which really helped with all the intestinal problems I had from the heavy duty antibiotics I was on for the pneumonia, and a liquid colloidal silver I spray under my tongue. I's possible I tried them because nothing else has worked. It has helped a little, but a little is better than none at all. It seems to get me to sleep more, which helps, but often at odd times... like just now I dozed off while writing this. After a good 10 years of no more than 4-5 hours of sleep a day, any extra sleep helps. It's not cheap, but neither is Ambien, and even taking 2 at a time usually didn't work.
Because I use rx silver sulfadiazide for all our scrapes and burns and bites, and it really works quick (the kids ask for it every time they get an 'owie', I looked it up on the internet and found there were oral non-rx silver treatments, I bought the only brand offered at the local WholeFoods. Whole Paycheck is more like it. Anyway, I can't say it did a lot, and I can't even say for sure they are the reason I'm feeling slightly better....my symptoms tend to rotate and vary anyway, but I thought it might help someone else to try it. Please send me any questions if you have any.

I was diagnosed with fibro and countless other conditions before they pin pointed my problem, which could only be diagnosed by symptoms and trail treatment, not blood tests.
That's when I started the natural supplement studies,6 years ago, and managed to keep myself functioning at least 3 out of 7 days.
Please consider some of the natural supplements, or at least read up on them, they saved my life. Just trying to help. DHEA, adrenal and l-tyrosine will help. Thymate will cure you. About.com has a health area with links and is a good place to start reading. Again, I just want to help, I know how you feel. And please stay away from these GNC and Wholefoods sham products and stick with reputable brands. They test these products from various labs and some do not contain what they claim with GNC and Wholefoods being the worst. I get the reports and so does my doc. I don't want anyone to get ripped off either. Take care and keep reading, the docs don't know about all of these immune system disorders so they just prescribe expensive drugs that do more harm than good. I'll shut up now... sorry.

I'm finding all posts about fibro very helpful. we're still struggling with Dr. to make a diagnosis. Has anyone tried guifsenin to treat fibro? I've been reading on this and wondering if my husband should try.

Very interesting. I read up on it briefly and read that there are 2 types of it. From what I read it is medically caused. Imagine that....
