Yes, I've always carried them on the plane in the bottle they can in.
That should not be a problem. I put them in my carry on.
I'm a diabetic so I have needles and bottles and all that stuff. Make sure the bottle has a label with a doc's name and the correct drug.

yes, i agree with grayps. just keep them in the original rx bottle. i have never had my meds searched through and i have to travel with a LOT of them. screeners have a lot more to worry about than someone's rx. but just to be safe keep them in their individual bottles.
and YES, DO keep them with your carryon luggage. this is MOST IMPORTANT. one time i put them with my checked in bags and the airline LOST them! they did end up locating my lost luggage, but i was without my meds for 4 days! that was 4 days visiting with my family, which is something i can't afford to do often, during which i had to endure needless suffering, not to mention adhd that ran rampant. please, keep your meds with you at all times when you travel!
have fun on your trip!
cheers, angel

thanks guys. i appreciate your advice. i'll definitely keep them in my carryon and in the rx bottle.
but don't know if the trip will be too much fun. it's a 6 hour flight. i just hope i get there in time to see my granddaddy. he's in the hospital after a stroke and heartattack and might not make it thru tonight.
talk about high anxiety. but i gotta keep it together somehow. at least i'm flying alone and not taking my 4 year old and 2 year old autistic daughter!

Flying with OPs isn't typically a problem unless you are going international. Most foreign ports don't really care if you are travelling with meds...like was mentioned..make sure they are correctly labelled with your name and Drs. The bigger problem could be the return to the good ol US of A. Again it isn't a problem if you have the original bottles, but if its a high amount of OPs you might want to have a letter from your Dr. that has clear contact info if there are any questions from overzealous Customs agents. They sometimes DO examine each bottle and contents if there is any reason, such as a large amount of meds, or a bad night's sleep, so make sure that all is in order and you will be fine. Prescriptions obtained outside of the US can be a gray area, so use sense before bringing back something unusual. Keep all your meds in a carryon...Murphy's law applies 2X when it comes to lost luggage with meds inside!

I go to florida each summer to visit my grandmother. All meds are carried in my carryon in the original bottles with proper lableing. I've been doing this for the past several years and have never had a problem. I would be carful if the labeling is vague (no pharacy listed - anything that does not look legit). As long as you have your drs. name and dea numbers I don't think there should be a problem.

luverjerry-I hope you seen your grandfather one last time before he passes from this world. Being able to say goodbye is important, but it's really how you spent your time w/ those you love.
