I was recently prescribed .5 of this to take twice a day....... is it just me or does this stuff work? it was prescribed for anxiety attacks. It also gives me a terrible headache so i was switched to clonazepam...
any comments from lorazepam users?

That's ativan, right? It's often given to people facing sugery to calm them down. I think xanax works better for me, but it all depends on your body chemistry. Besides, I use it for sleep instead of anxiety, so I need something that lasts longer than ativan.
Many people don't like lorazepam and find it dysphoric. It's almost as fast-acting and notably longer-lasting than alprazolam, though. So you have there you have the perfect formula for the non-abusable panic-attack medicine: it doesn't make you feel good and there's usually no "peak" onset of action (unless maybe you've taken quite a high dose). Little potential for addiction there.
If I'm not mistaken, .5mg is the smallest dosage there is, so it's not very surprising that you're not "feeling" it, but then again, there isn't really much to feel.

I was prescribed Ativan for years. same dosage as you. I felt that it worked great.......when I doubled the dose.
Having told the doctor that, she put me on klonopin.
I perfer ativan or xanax for full blown panic attacks but find K works just fine most of the time. Doctors are really afraid of benzos
