i was never offered the brand , but it still doesn't make sense that it would be unavailable. i take my scripts to only one pharmacy and, since my rx is for 120 X 10mg per month, i usually wipe them out. frequently they have to split the rx and i have to go in twice for one rx. when they run out of one generic, often i get another generic which looks so totally different from each other, i had a hard time believing they were the same med.

here are a couple of pics comparing the difference between the generic "mallinckrodt" dextroamphetamine sulfate 10 mg. (white diamond-shaped tablets) and "shire" dextrostat 10 mg. (yellow round flat tablets). on the doctors' labels on both, which of course i did not include in the pic, it says, "substituted for dexedrine spansule 10 mg."

if it is true that the brand isn't available, but the generic is, i find that a little bizarre.....

which reminds me, i haven't taken my dexedrine yet today, so i may have to come back and edit later. i have to look for the file. i'll do that first. it is taking me like more than an hour to write this when i realize that it should take closer to 5 minutes. adhd sucks!
