suboxone users.....
      #207235 - 12/12/04 07:31 PM

Has anyone out there done a 2 week taper with suboxone? I'm on one now (started Tuesday). I'm having a bit of trouble going down from 4 mg to 2mg and my doc is aware of this. I'll meet with him tomorrow. Anyone else have a bit of a hard time at any point? Thanks, juliah

why not wait another 10 days and let your body become accustom to 4 mg very well before dropping to 2?

if they are the orange scored sl tabs try cutting some in half and take 3mgs for a couple of days, take a whole one in the morning or whatever, then take the other half at nite. when i first got mine i was taking 6mg a day, i just went 3 days w/o taking any and before that i was taking 1mg a day for a few days-can you give sm 1 your pills and have them dispense them to you? good luck

i have a question regarding suboxone too. i have found that the longer i am taking this (i think its been about a month) the more tired i get with smaller and smaller doses. sometimes i take a half of a half of 2mg, and it knocks me out! im at work and all of a sudden im writing down notes and im actually dreaming and when i go back and check my notes, they make absolutely no sense. lol. kinda funny, but i cant be this unfunctional at work. they didnt do this before, or at least i was taking 2, 3x a day, now I can barely take 0.5mg at any given time.

anyone else notice this?

Thanks for your responses. I have emailed my doc asking if I can hang out at 4 mg for awhile.

Julia, I think everyone is different, because I tapered off in two weeks, started at 2mgs twice daily and tapered to 1/2 of a 2 mg. once daily then stopped completely with no adverse effects. I did notice a little drowsyness at 1/2 daily, but these little pills are very potent. Overseas, Doc's only prescribe 1 mg. daily for withdrawals and people do say this amount works great for them. I believe Doc's in the U.S. over prescribe because I can't fathom taking 8 to 16 mgs daily without it knocking me out. Subutex, suboxone is miracle if taken correctly and not abused.

I hope someone can and will answer my question regarding Temgesic and Suboxone. What is the typical strength of the Temgesic tabs and if I use Temgesic to withdrawal from hydro what is the equivalant to Suboxone. For example, Luckydee says he/she took 2mgs of the Suboxone twice daily to alleviate withdrawal symptoms. How many Temgesics would equal that amount?

I would really, really appreciate a reply and some help.
thanks!

I was on 32mg a day for months. I felt completely normal. I have heard others at higher doses. If you are coming from strong opiates, it can be difficult.

Hi,

I am new to this site. What is suboxene used for? Can it be purchased from an OP?

Just curious.

Stephie

Stephie,

Suboxene is used to for withdrawal for opiates eventhough it is an opiate itself. The withdrawal from suboxene is less intense than w/d from hydrocodone. Suboxene is Temgesic but it has something addded which prevents over abuse and injection because it is a very strong opiate. It's pain killing ability is minimal but it has been praised as a miracle drug for those trying to quit hydrocodone. Pleas corret me if I am wrong about a few things, anybody.
You can't find Suboxene from an OP, but there are a few sites that carry Temgesic. Whether they deliver or not I don't know.
Let me know if you have anymor questions!

NIKKI

Do not buy this from an OP. It is easy to get from a doctor's office. It will be far easier and far cheaper, with no chance for scams. I would strongly suggest that you go to the samsa webpage and find a doctor near you.

This is absolutely true.

My experience was that I was prescribed 30 tablets. I took them for four days and used 7 tablets in those 4 days. I took 1/2 pill 4 times the first day, 1/2 pill two times the next day, by day three I was breaking them in 1/4's and never took any more after the third dose (which is 3/4 of 1 pill). On day 4 I was feeling wonderful without any w/d symptoms at all. I took 1/4 of 1 tablet the fourth day and that was it. I have felt fine from then on. I've never been more amazed at how they completely prevent w/d. And for those of you that are curious, I was at an ungodly daily usage.

Unfortunately, I was not successful at staying off the hydro. I take them as prescribed now with only an extra every now and then where as before, it was getting way out of hand. I guess I'm not entirely ready to give them up completely. But I do know now that I can do it and I also know this drug works! Plus, I have 23 tablets stored away that should help me through this process at least a couple more times and maybe one of those will be permanently successful. I still have hope.

I started my suboxone regime last night. Was prescibed 2mg twice a day for first couple of days and anywhere from 1-3 a day after depending on how it is working. My plan is to be off as soon as possible. I was lucky enough to find a caring Dr. who is not in it to make a fortune and really wants to help. It took calling about 8 Dr.'s in my area to find this guy, the others were either full indefinetly or wanted like $3,000 for a 2 month program. This Dr. will cost a total of about $500. Those little orange pills are great. Took first one after being in withdrawal and,"poof", felt normal in minutes. Amazing! Have a great day all,
