I've had benzos show on a 10 panel over 3 weeks after last use.
Which benzo, if you don't mind saying?

Before going to an interview I have always taken a drug test on my own -- you can buy the panel-5 home test at Walgreens. I stay clean for 3 days and I have never had any problem. You can also find the panel-10 test for around $45 (Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzos, Cocaine, Marijuana, Methamphetamines, Morphine, Tricyclic-Anti Depressants, Opiates, PCP)
Anyway, here's a link addressing the issue

You're right...
Ambien, Soma and Tramadol do not show. Elavil and Trazodone might not show either, as I cannot remember.
I've taken them at varous intervals, for various conditions, and even the day before I knew I would be tested, which is every month so I know what will show and what won't. These don't show on a 10 panel UA.

Xanax.. about 2mg a day. It was at a time I tapered off completely but it still showed up in a drug test 3 weeks later.

Man am I glad that I found this thread! I just had an interview the other day, and from the way the interview went, it seems like I have the job. Some strings were kind of pulled in this case, it's a job working for a company affiliated with my boyfriend's job. He asked somebody in HR if there were any openings and she said that there weren't in that particular location, but they needed people at this other location affiliated with the company.
So I went on the interview, the guy who interviewed me went into a lot of detail about the specifics of the job, and said that I'd be hearing back from him today whether or not I was hired. Then he said that if I don't hear from him, to call him on his direct line, so I was taking that to mean that while he couldn't say that I was officially hired because he still had a few more interviews, that because I was recommended by the HR department at the other place, that I was "in," so to speak.
Here's the deal, now. I take both hydro and Xanax, and this job requires a urine screen drug test before they can officially hire you. I figured if it showed up in the test, that I could just say that I take the Xanax for insomnia and the hydro for back pain. I had no idea that they could actually ask you to produce proof of the prescribing physician! So I'm kind of in the same boat as kopi, if it shows up that I'm taking a benzo and hydro, how am I supposed to explain to these people that the meds are prescribed to me by Online Doctors who operate out of Florida?
My boyfriend always keeps one of those "flush" drinks around for a rainy day (aka random urine screen), but do they flush out the presence of hydro and benzo's? I'm not worried about anything else showing up because I haven't done any kind of illicit drugs in a while. He likes the chronic, but that stuff just makes my anxiety worse, and I'm even wondering if it could show up in my system from just being in the same room with him when he's smoking it.
So what's the story on this? Do the flush drinks work with cleaning out the presence of a benzo or hydro? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Eeyore

Hey bro try just showing them your persciption bottle. I mean that has the DEA # and everything. If they ask why the pharm is in fl just tell them your doctor must have to use them for insurance reasons. Good Luck

Chronic isn't gonna show up because you are in the same room as him.
You should hear some of the stories I have heard about how they got "dirty" tests!!!
Sorry a bit OT, but I think with the prescription bottles, you have nothing to worry about. Perhaps, you can say your insurance company requires mail order from FL?
Just a thought or two...

Hey Eeyore27,
Sorry to say those flush drinks don't work. They're kind of a modern day myth. I think someone already posted some info. on how to deal with drug tests, however, it's probably not appropriate for me to get into detail here on DB. Try this link: Erowid Vault
As far as explaining, you really don't have to as long as you have a valid prescription for your condition. My mother has a lots of medication mailed all the time from Florida and sees a local doctor. It's because her PPO firm gets a break using some large outsourced pharmacy fulfillment center. Please let us know how it goes.

Right noone care where the rx was filled. Most hmo meds like both my parents get meds from mail order and most large companies and even medical clinics use hmo's for the workers so they already know mail order makes up so many peoples rx needs.my parents pay $2 per rx if filled with the mail order pharmacy their hmo provides but if they coose to use their local the hmo will only pay half the rx price.
keep the bottle and if they have to see it then show it.thats nothing to worry about at all.

Hey all,
Well, looks like I have nothing to worry about after all. I waited around all day yesterday for this idiot's phone call and when he finally did call me (at quarter to 5, when they close at 6), he said "Well it was a tough decision to make, but we had to go with somebody with more experience." I swear I'm about to just down the rest of what's in my drawer cuz I'm so sick of hearing BS excuses like this. I must have been on a million interviews in the last 4 months, my resume is freaking everywhere, and still no job. I'm not going to be able to make my bills this month, so what's the frigging point?? Sorry for the rant. I'm just so sick of feeling rejected already.

Sorry to here about you not getting the job. Its tough out there I know> I was unemployed for 8 months till I finnally found a job. They said nothing about drug tests. I fail both benzo and hydro. But luckly I had florida perscrip-tions. So no problem. Fast forward to 1 year later. Just got layed off again about a month ago. I can get about 150,000 dollars out of house I am selling and moving to Ohio because I can by a house out right and I will not need to make as much money.(I am not going to have a slow decay like last time. By the time I got that other job I was in so much debt I had to get this terrible loan. My advice is to never give up. In fact you never know this could be a blessing you could get the job of your dreams. Please dont get down and if you need some support please PM me. The jobs now days are low paying and have to much competition. The rejection sucks big time. Plus the best way to get a job is to know someone. Network with friends and develop differnt friends lie on you resume if needed to get in the door.. Good luck my thoughts are with you. Anyone In Ohio know anything about job market please pm me. My skills are in production supervision.(China has taken all the jobs in USA we cant compet and our leaders are not helping).

Sorry to hear about the job status Eeyore. Hang in their, its still a real tough market out their, I know people that have been looking for over 4 months, I also know some people that got something quick but they were lucky. I like the poster who said "never give up" thats true! Something will work out for you don't worry. It just may take some more time but be patient and good luck!

I'm in the same boat as far as the job status! I just got my bachelor's in biology, and can't even get a job at wal-mart.

Engineering job over a joint! Now, I only use Codeine as necessary for Chronic pain issues! Depending on the employer, even if you have a Script, you can still lose a job for testing positive for it! You should know Your Co's policy! The blood test is the way to go ya'll! Same goes if you are pulled for DWI! Never blow into their machine ! Make it clear to them that you DO Not refuse to be tested only it must be with a Blood Test! It can save your A$$! Even though I think it is very unfair to test someone without probable cause! The blood test is reasonable because it tests real-time use which IS fair! NO ONE Should Use Drugs At Work, School, Driving a Car or Machinery and most importantly While Caring For Children!! I hope this helps someone out there! Later, B
Hi Band,
Okay I've got a question...you say you can get canned for testing positive for Codeine, even with a script (bottle). I don't understand that? How can it be that way? LIke you, I use codeine for chronic pain and I have a couple of old prescription bottles for T3s. I've been thinking that I'd be safe with those, is that true? Also, can they distinguish between codeine and other stronger opiates? or does it just show up as opiate? Even though these bottles are a year or two old, I could have had a couple leftover and just took one recently for a painful sprain or something else not requiring a Dr. visit, right?

when taking a drug test, tell the drug testing company what drugs you have taken recently, no matter what that way they will expect a few... my GF did that and addded alprazolam and she got her job just fine.... they really are looking for abusers and not people who use the drugs for what they are intended for.

From my personal experience with employment and medication, NEVER volunteer information. If they test me and I am questioned about my clonazepam showing up, I'll explain. And I'll let them know why I didn't write it down (I don't feel comfortable in doing so). Anyone I've worked for has been fine with it, so far.
