Just an interesting observation. I went to TJ last month. Downtown the pharmacies pulled their Soma (Somacid etc..) off their shelves (a few still had it though). When asked I was told that Soma could no longer be sold as it was recently made a controlled substance in Mexico. One pharmacy told me they thought that things would cool down in a few months or so and that Soma was singled out because kids were buying it as a "party drug".
When I went to another part of town I still saw it on the shelves.
Does anyone know the scoop on this med?

I dont think the problem is so much SOMA. I think the real problem is with TJ, the US putting pressure on TJ, maybe.
What I notied from my previous visit(s) was that there were few pharmacies that could sell anything that was a controlled substance, or anything that could be considered recreational. Now keep traveling south just 20 miles and all the pharmacias I visted were glad to sell anything.
I guess I found it interesting that steriods could be bought from pet stores or pharmacias, one pharmacia I visted in TJ had nothing but steriods, and anyone could witness the employees helping the customers inject themselves. I kid you not, it was really weird to walk into a pharmacia, and seeing several "beef cakes" sitting at the counter getting injected But ask for a low dose narcotic or any benzo and just about every pharmacia in TJ said "NOTA".

Actually, a bunch of Cali kids got busted a couple weeks ago after they bought about #2000 tabs and were selling them at school  I believe this is the reason for the recent crackdown. There's a link to the news article here if you want to search for it.

I just had two bottles of Somacid taken from me coming back from TJ. They photocopied my I.D. too!

I assume it was taken by US Customs because you did not have a script with you? What did they tell you? Soma is not a scheduled drug in the US (yet?).

According to the agent, it is a controlled substance in the state of California. I've never heard this one before, but I wasn't going to argue either. I've had no problems in the past bringing soma into Cali.
I'll be in Brownsville in a few weeks... I prefer Matamoros pharmacies and the crossing is much easier...

I was wondering if it was just me. The price of Soma went from $8 (US) for 100 to $40-$50 for 50 in the last two months.

has anyone been to TJ lately? I'm headed there on a trip to San Diego around Xmas. Just wanted to see if i could pick up 100 or so SOMA?
