I just received the following email and I found it mildly alarming that they used my (actual) name on it:
ATTENTION XXXXXX XXXXXX [my first and surname]
This is the FINAL NOTICE you will receive regarding your Hydrocodone prescription that is SET TO EXPIRE on NOVEMBER 29th, 2004.
Be advised that YOU MUST RENEW your prescription by NOVEMBER 26th, 2004 to avoid any additional charges and/or delays.
Please use the following secure link to order now:
http://www.meds-web.com
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
We look forward to continuing to serve you.

I have never visited, registered with, or purchased from this site. I only ever used the addy that received this letter for one OP-one of the ones that closed last May. After that I jumped on the sky/gooddeals/newlevitra et.al wagon and opened a new addy solely for OP correspondence and I find it interestingly remarkable that I have not received one single junk letter at my OP address in nearly six months while I end up getting something like this at the address I used for only one of these places.
Anyway I was just curious if anyone else received such an email with their actual name on it?...otherwise the site advertised is outrageously priced (note the added costs above the medication costs).

Substitute a "popular weight loss product" for your hydro then yes.

Wow!; what a convoluted labyrinth of information this place is hiding behind . Thanks for sharing your detective work and similar experience Berkeley1999 . The originating IP on the email I received was, according to ARIN WHOIS, from Amsterdam and the return address was to a hotmail account. Of course it doesn't much matter after seeing their prices. It was just mildly unsettling seeing my name on the email but I guess it comes with the territory .

I get several of them everyday, with my personal info. Someone has sold their customer list. I just report them as spam and ignore.

I, like you, also include a small note to system admins refering to them as drug-dealing spammers. They are not legit and are soliciting much like a drug dealer on a dimmy-lit street corner.

They also are similar to http://websitetheyourshop.com. Exact prices and only take Visa. The above mentioned site operates out of UK. Probably bad, but everything seems to be bad right now. There is alot of paranoia and many pharmacies won't ship...
Meds-Web.com operates out of Uruguay, yet they say they ship UPS. Is this possible?? The current registrar is Ghandi himself, WOW.

Hey, between loan, drug, software and sexual offers , my mail box is filled with this cr*p as hard as I try to get rid of all these jokers. It was so nice when I first hooked up to broadband and had a new email addy - safe for awhile, but it sure doesn't take long, does it?
I block these creeps (I.E), but it doesn't seem to stop the onslaught. Annoying at best, downright dangerous at worst. If your kids use the computer and have access to your email, who knows what they might respond to out of ignorance? Then it goes way past annoying. I'm fortunate that I'm the only one on my computer.

Im getting the same crapola!
I would like to know how my name got out so quick, it could have only been a few IOPs that sold me out.
