that is a subjective question. some people in moderate pain will have good pain relief from T4 others will feel nothing. on the other hand I took T3s when ever I had pain. it worked great. I had surgery to repair the back of my mouth/upperairway. and it hurt like nothing else when ever I swolled. the doc gave me T3 syroup it worked great.
then I hurt my back my doc then gave me hydro then I ordered T4 through Erxonline (wayback when) and it never touched the pain.
so it depends on your tolerance type of pain and how your body reactss

T4 (back at ya souvlaki). Ha ha, like johng said it is subjective. T4 works for me but from my reading on this board it seems like more people do get relief from hydro products. I THINK a T4 is about similar in strength to a hydro 10/350 - set me straight if I am wrong about this because I am not sure and thanks in advance. Pinkie

I think it has more to do with each persons ability to convert codeine into morphine in their body. Codeine is converted to morphine in the liver by the CYP2D6 enzyme (about 10% is actually converted). About 6-10% of the population have poorly functional CYP2D6 enzymes, and so therefor do not get as much benefit from codeine. Some people have better functioning CYP2D6 enzymes, and get more codeine converted to morphine in their bodies, and so might get better pain management than with Hydro.
I guess I just wanted to act like I'm smart today

Over my head but makes sense. Your receptors are not my receptors. Just from what I hear hydrocodone is better for pain relief, hands down over T3 & T4.

For me personally, Hydro works much better. Although, I think T4's have very little Tylenol in them - which is a plus!

T 4s have 500 mgs of tylenol I believe. I find that T4s don't last as long. I have to re-medicate after 4 hours with Ts and 6-8 after hydro.
