I have warned people before about this interaction yet it happened to me again.
I woke up early in the morning with bad heart burn and had nothing but Tagamet left over. Coincidentally that day happened to be a day i had already planned to not take tramadol because i didnt have anything to do. so you see, since this happened to be a day i wasnt going to take tramadol, i took tagamet for the heartburn.
36 hours later my short time off tramadol had to end because i had leg aches, depression, and had things to do that i didnt the previous day. I took the tramadol and it kicked in like a horrible dirty stimulant and made me panic. I had to use my 'as needed' xanax which mostly fixed the problem but left me feeling lousy. The tramadol even seperated by 36 hours from the tagamet was still much much different that it usually is. There is no doubt that it is those with a very good metabolism to turn a lot of it over to M1 are the ones who like tramadol. the people who say its horrible and dirty must have not as good of a metabolism. M1 is much better than parent compound
Dont ever mix tramadol and tagamet
I wish there was an inducer of CYP2D6. Most literature says there is not.
They should make tramadol's metabolite in a pill instead of tramadol.

Tramadol, alone, made me so sick I thought I was going to die. To this day I'll never take it again. Maybe I'm allergic.

nonformulary.com and livewellrx.com:
non is cheaper but livewell has higher count and better service.

I think Tramadol does not mix well w/lots of meds. My doc prescribed it to me for back pain and just being the paranoid person I'am, I went on to Drugs.com to check interaction with meds I'm taking currently. Well it turns out if you take any SSRIs, which I do, the interaction is severe. I was so glad I check before I took it. The interaction effects were seizures, comas. Scared the [censored] out of me. But it was my fault also cause I didnt inform the docs the other medication I was on. I hope you are feeling better tone. Everyone, be safe
