In Phoenix AZ a man entered a Walgreen's drug store with a gun, took 4 people hostage and while he held them the media reports "helped himself to various drugs". He was demanding drugs, again, unknown what specific drugs....as the crisis escalated the man shot himself and died...I'll post more details as they become available.
I think you are thinking of the guy that was at Radio Shack. Here is what I found on the other story:
Gunman in drugstore-hostage incident dies
PHOENIX (AP) -- The gunman who took four drugstore employees and one customer hostage in Phoenix yesterday afternoon has died.
Forty-seven-year-old James Alan Parker shot himself in the head about two hours after the incident began at the Walgreen's at Seventh Street and Camelback.
He was taken in critical condition to a hospital, where police say he died early today.
Police spokesman Detective Tony Morales says the hostage incident began after Parker confronted a pharmacist, demanding drugs.
None of the five hostages were injured during the standoff.
Donna---not sure we're talking about the same story...I just listened to the news and they said all hostages were released uninjured...the perpetrator was the only one injured. I'll watch the news when I get home & verify, but the radio news is reporting only the perp was hurt.
