To all my comrades here at DB:
Hi everyone!! I really don't post much, unless its in defense/or a friendly "hey" of a new comer or a good experience I have had with an op.
For once I need your help please!?
I have been on Norco's for about 6 months give or take. I take it for a bad knee. Bid 3X's a day. Well I just found out I have a problem with my spine and ankle. The Norco isn't doing squat! I thought, maybe I should just do a holiday? But I doubt I would even be able to work any more. (I do factory work and I'm on my feet ALL day!) What I'm asking my friends here is; what can I take, i.e more Tylenol, ibprofrin with the Norco? I do understand that by law you CAN NOT give me any type of medical advise and I truly understand, I'm just asking what YOUR experience has been and would like to know what works for YOU that MIGHT help ME. I can NOT take anti-inflammatory and can't take muscle relaxes. For some reason they mess my tummy up.
I'm sorry I'm being such a ditz tonight, I'm just having such a bad weekend! I've been bitc*y since my meds don't cut it any longer. Might be a blonde moment, hour, day, week whatever. I just want to know if you guys/girlies can try to help a fellow DBer out with this issue. The pains not as bad as some of yours, and I pray for you all to get better ASAP, but I'm such a big baby and I need some advise on this issue. Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to share your 'special recipe with all, I understand.
Thank you Very very much for reading my post, and thank you in advance for any replies and help.

Hello there! Well, I hate to see you in pain and i have been there so many times. A hydro holiday would help but then you would have all the pain again for that holiday. 10/325 have less tylenol in them because docs worry about long term use causing liver problems with the 10/500 but you could add a 325mg tylenol maybe at night or whatever time the pain is the worse for you. Some people in pain take a soma or xanax once ady as it help the hydro work better when you are calmer. I have awful kidney stones with extreme pain that gets me so upset at times the painmeds can't work so I have to take a xanax to calm me down to allow the pain medicine to work. My urologist first put me on this as I was so upset they couldn't get the pain meds to work.
These are just a few ideas only. I hope this helps you some with your problem and you take care of yourself! If I can ever help let me know!
Hugs RK

Thanks RK for your wonderful and caring reply.
I think I'm going to just go on holiday until I have my next consult with ephy.(month and a half)I know its going to be rough without the meds, but I would rather 'flush them out and get, if you will; "a fresh start" or wait and see what type of specialist my pcp will be sending me too if any. Again, thank you for your great advice!
Love the cheerleader avatar! Way cool! Oh, the new word is "Hot" not cool. Seen Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchey using that now. LMAO Where oh where did you ever find that?
Have a wonderful day sweetie!

I took the Norco 10/325's for a while and found that they really didn't do much of anything. I thought it was a tolerance thing, but on a hunch I decided to go back to the 7.5/500's I was on prior. Well, that did the trick. Here I thought I was "upgrading" with going to the 10/325's and they were a complete bust for me but the 7.5/500's really did work better right away. I've since gone onto the 10/500's and they also work well. For me, I guess the extra tylenol actually makes the difference.

I had the same results - 10/325's from Wal-mart didn't do a thing, thought I received bad drugs. I actually started taking one 222 I get from Canada (300 mg acetaminophen /8 mg codine, knocked the pain right out

Jake & ML
Thank you so much for the advice. It was well taken, written down and I'm going to ask Ephy's DR about this. What about vicodaprifine? I don't think the spelling came out to good. anyhoot, I wonder if this will work better? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

The Vicoprofen did not work as well for me. The are 7.5 mg with 200 mg of ibuprofen. Mine were from Abbott Labs (generic). I purchased them at Rite-Aid. 90 generics were $99, my insurance would pay nothing towards the band name which was $154 for 90.

Canyou get Ultram (generic name Tramadol). It calms and works for pain. It works. I have been told it can cause seizures. If you are on the vip side, read the thread about it. It worked for me last week. I got it from a doctor, but i am out now. I am trying Soma now
