Mallies vs. Watson?
      #200641 - 11/16/04 08:57 AM

Is it me or are Mallies 10/500 weaker than Watson 10/500? If so, is it just poor quality or that the Mallies have a hard coating on them? Anything you can do to make them more effective, other than taking more at one time? They use to always carry Watsons, and after about 6 months I returned and just assumed they would be watson, but I had already left the store and went home with them. I'm going to call them shortly and see if they carry the watsons also, but I think I'm screwed until my next refill where I can transfer it to a store that carries watsons.

Thanks for listening and reesponding. Alt

I have had experience with both. I do not like the mallies they make me really nauseas and they make my stomach hurt. I much much much prefer the Watson any day. I actually thing the Watson 7.5/500 far surpass the Mallinkcrodt 10/500's any day! I really do not like those Mallies at all. I just had gotten an order shipped to me too and they were "by mistake" they sent me those yucky things and now they won't respond to me calling them or my e-mails to them. www.rxpillzone.com... They have good 7.5 watsons but nasty mallies if you order the 10's

I too have experiences with so-called "Mallies" but mine is a little different from the above person. In the area that I live, all the pharmacies use Mallinkrodt brand Hydro...for 5,7.5, and 10's. They were the only ones made I thought, until I began ordering online from OP's, which send usually Watson brand, except once BM sent me Mallies. Personnally, I feel and see no difference, I like them both equally and feel they work for me equally the same. And I've never experienced the side effects that so many people cite when taking or using Mallies. To me, they are the same and work the same. I don't mind getting them and it makes no difference to me.

Tom me - Mallies have a slightly slower come on - but overall effectiveness is about the same. I like the norco/watson TASTE better though!

Mallies SUCK, I've gotten them prescibed for dental work and also from OP's. In my opinion they are weaker. Pharm companies can put slightly more or less of the drug into a pill (a pretty small fraction, I think the range is like 9.2-10.8 or something for hydro 10's) and I think Mallie's folks use a little less.

RXpillzone has been gone since last Friday so that is why you cant get ahold of them.
I have talked to Dr's and Pharmacists that have assured me that the mallies and the watsons are the same thing just different brands. I have had both and can not tell a difference and actually last time I got mallies 7.5 they seemed a bit stronger than the watson 10's. Maybe just the shipment.
