just wanted to toss out a possible eplanation for some shipping concerns I've read about in this forum. It's a method to reduce costs for a shipper that is offered by UPS I know for a fact and possibly FedEx. It's called a "pallet" of orders. What happens is that instead of shipping packages as single units individually, they are shipped as part of a "pallet", or group, of orders. This grouping allows a shipper to get a discount on costs. So basically what it boils down to is that a shipper doesn't have say 7 individual orders to ship and calls for a pickup but waits until they have 20 or 30 orders to ship or a "pallet" of orders. This is one reason why you get situations like track info stating billing info received by the package is "held" for a time until they build up enough orders to get the pallet discount. I hope you understand this, not too good in getting idea out. oh well.
Thanks for that info. That does make alot of sense. And while all those NROP's are charging top dollar for delivery, they are probably getting it for a bargain, with the quantity of orders they process. Just another way to "rake" the patient, I guess.
