It's not any good. Ultracet doesn't have that much tramadol in it...so you would probably have to take a lot to even get a buzz, but then you would mess up your liver with all the apap in it. There is also a risk factor of seizures.
Some people get ultram, which has more tramadol in it.
I've taken ultracet and it doesn't do anything for me...didn't take away the pain...all it did was give me a headache every time I took it.

I have used Ultracet or Ultram if I run out of hydro too soon, it at least takes an edge off the pain and keeps withdrawals from happening. I have heard of people becoming very dependent on it if taking too much.

I think it is one of the worst medicines out there. I used it for a day and half and had a seizure. Stick to hydro if you can!!

It is a type of synthetic narcotic - when it first became available, doctors all assumed it was not addicting, when, in fact it is. Not really sure of the reasons or how it works in the body, but it sort of mimics a narcotic effect causing dependency.

Sorry, that was kinda of blunt, I am a little biased. It really doesn't have any calming effect though. And it does not work on muscle tension because that is what I was taking it for. If you want something for that you should try Soma-that is the best for muscle tension and for a calming effect. But really if you are used to hydro and try to go to ultracet you will be setting yourself up for problems. PM if you want to talk more about it.

well, tramadol has always had plenty of a calming effect on me. It just depends on what works for you. There are plenty of people who get no relief of any kind from hydrocodone. That doesn't mean hydrocodone is no good, it just means its not the medication you need to take if it doesn't work for you.
Tramadol is a fine medication. a small percentage of people tend to have adverse reactions to it, some people also have adverse reactions to narcotics. You need to find what works for you.
