Anyone Gotten their Refill from Health Plan??
      #196307 - 10/26/04 10:35 AM

Has anyone been able to get a refill from Health Plan Pharmacy in the last few weeks?

I have used Health Plan for over a year. I have always been pleased with them. However, when I attempted to order my refill this month (October), they refused to fill it.

They said that they would need a more current physical. They have a copy of my most recent physical which was done in January of 2004. They told me that the physical cannot be more than 6 months old. I tried to explain to the lady that I'm only suppose to have a physical done annually and that if I asked my doctor to do another physical she would tell me that I'm not due for one until next January. This explanation did no good.

I even went to my doctor's office and had them give me a copy of my most recent office visit, which was in July of 2004, and faxed it to Health Plan; however, they said that it wasn't sufficient because it was not a physical and that it did not have a telephone number on it for them to call and verify with my doctor.

I have decided to forget trying to get them to send out my refills. I do not want them calling my local doc. They said that they would have to call my local doc. and verify my records with her and verify that she knew that they were treating me for pain with Hydro. This turned me off. I do not want them calling my local doc.

One more thing I found out. I called the doc. I was using through Health Plan, Dr McA****r to see if they would be willing to send my script to another pharmacy. They told me that they have severed all relations with Health Plan. She also said that their physician assistants who were conducting the consults are no longer working there and that she didn't know if Health Plan was even in business any more. She also refused to send my script to another pharmacy.

I am in the process of trying to transfer my script to another pharmacy. Even though Health Plan told me they don't allow transfers, I figured it can't hurt to try and get it transferred. I should know if the transfer was successful tomorrow. I'll post a reply and let everyone know how it goes.

Sorry to go on and on for so long

PS: If anyone has been able to get their refills, please let the rest of us know.

I did hear that HPP was going through lots of changes to comply with government rules! I would tell you what I think about those government rules but I'd be banned from the board and there's not enough room anyway!

Talked to the pharmacy to which I'm trying to have my HPP script transferred today. The man told me that they talked with a lady named Tonya (I'm not sure if she's from HPP or from the Dr's office) and she was suppose to call him back but she failed to do so (what a surprise). He said that he would try to call her back. That was a few hours ago and I haven't heard anything since. I'm hesitant to call them again because I don't want to be a bother.

I'll keep you all posted on the progress of my attempted transfer from the defunct Health Plan.

One positive thing I can report regarding Health Plan. When I had my consult with them last month, they forgot to charge me the $50 for the consult fee. I felt a little guilty about it at first, but I sure don't now!! If I'm unable to get my refills transferred, I guess I haven't really lost any money.

Same problem here..would not release last refill to me..my info was only from APRIL of this year, included MRI results and everything. Had to go with NROP because all of my records are at pain management doc's office, who does not prescribe anything for pain...LOL.

Negative on my transfer attempt.

So much for Health Plan.
