I don't know about euphoria, they say some of the side effects include : excitement, hallucinations, sedation, unnatrually good moods... oh and yellow skin and eyes. Great, so it makes you look like you have hepatitis!

I only had experience w/ the liquid kind, doc gave me when I had the coughs really bad. It made feeling like my lungs were opened. Did not feel any euphoria, but it helped w/ my cough.

I've used the injection before when I had a horrible stomach virus and was...well you know. ;-)

Believe me, it was a god-send. It settles your stomach down almost instantly and stops all of the other nasty side effects that come with a stomach virus.

However, I'm not quite sure why euphoria would be listed as a side effect. I guess when you're throwing up your toenails, it does feel pretty good to stop ;-) Maybe that's what they mean by euphoria. LOL.

Phenergan is very commonly given along with injectable opioids (especially Demerol) as it will potentiate the opiates effect. When given alone, it will usually cause sleepiness. It is a wonderful nausea medication, but burns like hell when it is given IV or IM without diluting it with normal saline in the syringe. I never had one of my patients report euphoria, but a couple would tell me they felt kind of "floaty" and relaxed, but not euphoric. Hope this helps...
