International is cheaper, but risky and sometimes unreliable.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've had an excellent experience with MedicineAtHome.com.

They sent a paramedic to my home for an examination. The physician then contacted me for a consultation, which lasted a good hour. He was very thorough, very nice and very easy to talk to.

It might be a bit expensive for the exam ($90) and the consultation ($125), but the cost of the prescription, I think, is very reasonable. The price of the consultation includes the initial script and two refills, before needing another consultation.

They also compound hydro with 100 mg of guaifenasin in order to lessen the amount of APAP. Not knowing how that would work, I didn't get it this time, but the doctor included 20 of them with my order so I can try it and see how it works.

With the NR-OPs either raising their prices every other minute or suddenly disappearing, it's very comforting to know I don't have to worry about that any more.

I would gladly recommend MedicineAtHome to anyone!!!

A one hour consult? ONE HOUR
$90 port a medic?
2 refills (nothing special there)

I guess if you want the hassle and extra expense it's OK.

Also, guifansen is a cough medicine. If they compund, why don't they just reduce the amount of APAP? 10/80's for example. Sounds like they are "reducing" the APAP but adding back the guifansen. Why bother? Unless you have a hacking cough...

But thanks for your post and the heads up !

That's just rediculious that it takes a full hour... what could possibly go on in a conversation with their doctor? an Hour's worth of questions is A LOT of questions and i would feel weird talking to a doctor for an hour over the phone just to aquire medication. Their are so many more cheaper and reliable Record op's out there. I'm not putting down this OP at all, nor am i bashing the customers... just making a point that it is not worth the hassle to go through all that when you are paying all those fee's. You could just as easily go to another OP without having to deal with all that.

"One man's desert is another man's poinson" ... or something like that. I can see where an individual wouldn't view a one hour consultation with a doctor as ridiculous or a hassle at all. Having a doctor actually take the time to listen, explain, genuinely discuss your condition while taking the time to get to know something about you could be viewed as a big plus, reassuring, informative, and well worth one's time. This poster obviously wasn't looking to just give her schpeel to the doc so that he would fork over her prescription. I was actually pleasantly surpised to see that there was an online physician out there who wanted to make sure that the patient felt like they had a real consultation.

As for the guaifenesen, it's not just cough medicine. Cough medicine is a combination of guaifenesen with something else... usually hydro. Guaifenesen is a decongestant. Guaifenesen is also used in treatment with fibromyalgia patients ... not sure what the reasoning behind it is; but there is other uses for it other than "cough medicine." That may very well have something to do with it being suggested to the poster.

Also, Pecan: When you're typing your replies, scroll down to the "instant graemlins" section underneath your typing space. You'll see a "More Graemlins" link ... they're all there!

Thanks, spondylo. You very eloquently described the experience I had with this physician.

The prescription is for 120 hydros per month (more than I will need), and I don't think that $133 for the prescription is expensive at all. Anyone can read this board and see that from one day to the next, we never know which NROP's are going to be working, and even one minute to the next, whether their prices have increased. For example, the last money order that I purchased was for $174 for an order of #60 from P4Sale (which never came, which I was never advised WOULDN'T come and I wound up cashing in the money order, grateful that I didn't fill their name in on the "pay to the order of" line).

So three months from now (having to pay for the consultation but NOT the paramedic exam again), at 120 hydros a month, here's the comparison:

MedicineAtHome: #360 hydros (including consultation and shipping) = $584.

The same number (#360 hydros) from P4Sale = $1,044.

As I said, I have the peace of mind of knowing that I won't be without pain meds. They take credit cards, so I don't have the inconvenience of buying a money order. And they use FedEx which, to me, is much better than UPS.

So maybe others don't think it's preferable to all these other "now ya see them, now ya don't" sites that change their prices from one minute to the next, but I'm glad I won't have to deal with them any more.

marmann-that's great and I'm glad your happy with them. Any records OP is better than a non records OP-of course! But don't forget to add the $90 port a medic-which isn't necessary with the other records OP's. And, I agree with the other poster-I would not be comfortable with a 1 hour consult-not at all.
But, as I said, thanks for posting so people know what to expect of this place

Its nice to know that there is a place like this for the people who would rather have a detailed conversation with the physician, and I'm glad you're happy with this OP.
I, for one, would not be happy about this at all, because I am usually at work when my consult takes place, as I'm sure many other members are also.
There is no way I would be able to stay on the phone that long and really no reason I would want to, but there are people who would enjoy this aspect very much.
Thank you so much for the information about this OP.
sassy
